Bought the following this weekend:
L'Eclisse 2046 Touch of Evil If.... Freaks and Geeks complete series (for a friend's birthday who I am no longer talking to apparently, so I'm keeping it)
I haven't seen any Freaks and Geeks or If....
I also rented Three Colors: Red (9/10) and got Au Hasard Balthasar in the mail today.

Quick question for anyone who knows. I don't shop at Borders that much (prices in there scare me, hehe) but I went in today to look for The Third Man because I've seen it around here all the time recently and it looks pretty good. I went in there and a lady asked if I needed help, I told her what I was looking for and she looked to see if they had it. She told me they didn't but they could order it for me. I figured I'd do that since no other place around here carries it. The total came to $39.99, the price I've seen it advertised for everywhere, so I had her order it and I'll be picking it up on Monday when I'm there again. The thing is, I got home here and was interested so I checked DeepDiscount.com to see their price, and sure enough it was cheaper there; $14 cheaper, nearly another DVD I could buy. So my question is, does Borders price match? If I go in there and say, "Hey, I found it much cheaper here than what you're charging me for the same thing." will they lower their price? As I said, I never shop here and I know some on here do, so I figured someone here is bound to know.

They sell everything for more than it is worth because that is the way they do things. I shop there constantly, have tried that before and it doesn't work. So, you are better off buying it offline.

Most of the time Borders is a rip-off, except for one very special exception, when I got Once Upon a Time in the West for $10. Otherwise keep clear and go with Barnes & Noble or amazon.com.

dontdigonswine, i can't wait to see what you think of "freaks and geeks"!!!!!!! and about borders, yes, the prices suck balls, unless you use 30% off coupons they send out, then you get a pretty good price, actually. i would just use the internet to do your shopping, you can normally always get stuff cheaper. i bought these today: is this any good, i think i heard some good things about it? anyone seen it? and my brother got nacho libre.

Yeah, that's why I try and avoid Borders. It seemed like a good idea at the time, since I hadn't seen it anywhere listed under $39.99. I've been Googling some coupons and found a 30% off one, which would be fine cause that'd put it at ~$30 after tax, which isn't that much more than the online price (and I'd get it sooner). Just one question though, and it's probably obvious, but under the exclusions it lists electronics. Does that include DVD's? Probably, but I just figured I'd check anyways.

well, i didn't expect you to remember, since you never take notice of what i say, but i did have some nice things to say about Keane. very nice surprise. yeah, i thought you were the one who talked about it. i just wanted to make sure, and yeah, i remember now you liking it. and beed, stay was $1.99 and my dad says it is worth that price, since he has seen it, for me to see it, then sell it. so whatever, it might be good, but he could be lying, and it could suck balls.

oh my god, Part II is terrible. The best part was the Daffy Duck/Bugs Bunny cartoon beforehand on the VHS. But the first Never-Ending Story? ...pretty lousy in retrospect, but a lot of nostalgia, at least

edit: i also bought: good movie. It's like Bring Me the Head of Alfredo Garcia Lite. Yeah, after watching it three times, I'd say it's so far one of this decade's best films! But the R2 edition by Optimum is superior in bonus material!

edit: i also bought: good movie. It's like Bring Me the Head of Alfredo Garcia Lite. i haven't seen bring me the head of alfredo garcia yet, but i really want to. are you saying it is better than three burials? good movie. It's like Bring Me the Head of Alfredo Garcia Lite. Yeah, after watching it three times, I'd say it's so far one of this decade's best films! But the R2 edition by Optimum is superior in bonus material! i haven't checked out the bonus features, but i definitely agree with you that it is one of the best this decade. it is soo underrated! i don't know why more people aren't talking about it. i also don't understand why other region dvd's have different features, it seems like they should all be the same, i hate having a weaker version of a film, when a better one exists.
