My Favorites, In My Opinion
1. I Want You (She's So Heavy) 2. Let It Be 3. The Medley* 4. Hey Jude 5. Norwegian Wood 6. Yesterday 7. All You Need Is Love 8. Helter Skelter 9. Magical Mystery Tour 10. Within You Without You
*If you're going to be cruel, and expect me to pick one song from the medley: Carry That Weight. I found out about the Beatles through Cowboy Bebop, namely, through Carry That Weight, although The End is next in line.
Not sure if I have a favorite album by the Beatles. I don't think Magical Mystery Tour is as consistent as Let It Be, as diverse as Sergeant Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band, or as memorable as Abbey Road. But, really, it's not that bad of a release.
Also, I haven't really listened to the White Album as much as the others, in part because it's hard to listen to two discs easily. You have to switch discs out, and that can disrupt things a little bit.
I've only listened to Sergeant Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band, Magical Mystery Tour, the White Album, Abbey Road and Let it Be... Naked, of their albums. I've heard some songs here and there as well, but I was quite surprised the first time I put in Sergeant Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band that I had heard bits and pieces of half of the album before, but not in their proper form.
I saw a store called Rubber Soul once, about three years ago.

Definitely check out Revolver as your next Beatles album. It's my favorite. I will try and come up with a ranking of songs, it will take a while though.

Joel, Please explain why Rubber Soul isn't good. I can't understand how you could call that album bad in any way. Rubber Soul is good, it's has some of the best songs ever on it and also has some songs that are just good/decent. But the best album EVER Tim? I don't think so. I don't have the CD with me right now so next time I have the CD I will tell you what I think of each song.

I Want You (She's So Heavy) is SOOO underrated. Indeed. It has such a great mood, and the ending, man. Definitely check out Revolver as your next Beatles album. It's my favorite. I will try and come up with a ranking of songs, it will take a while though. I definitely need to check out the portions of the Beatles discography that I haven't listened to yet, so don't worry, it's in the back of my mind. Also of note, a kid I talk to asked for my thoughts on Incubus. My suggestion follows: "Here's my advice: forget Incubus and all of that other crap. Check out any of the albums by the Beatles, and see where Incubus, and everyone else, stole their tricks." To expand those thoughts a little bit, I know that there are bands out there today doing their own thing. Not just copying off other bands. The Mars Volta, the Decemberists and the Seatbelts are three that I can name offhand. But of all the bands and the musicians on VH1 or are popular bands, yeah, most of them are just thieves. *shakes fist* Oh yeah, the thing about Let it Be is that it's not just a song, it's a whole attitude on life. I know that the lyrics aren't particularly about this, but to me, it just says: just let it be, don't be concerned about things that don't matter. That's why I like the song so much.

Yea, lyrics are so subjective. They can mean so many different things to different people. You see Let it Be as an attitude on life, some people see it as a statement of religion, I look at it as if it trys to tell us to fight through hard times. But in reality, its a song about Paul's mom.

Yes, Here Comes the Sun, Elenor Rigby, and so many others (don't have it in front of me and can't remember all the greats on there) are the best, but the whole album is just perfect.

Paul McCartney: New Album Details From ultimate-guitar.com Paul McCartney has unveiled the track-listing and release date for his new album "Memory Almost Full." The long player will hit the shelves in Europe on June 4 and Stateside a day later. Macca started work on the 13 tracks with producer David Kahne before he had even released his last effort "Chaos and Creation in the Backyard" two years ago. Speaking of the album, McCartney reflects: "In places it's a very personal record and a lot of it is retrospective, drawing from memory, like memories from being a kid, from Liverpool and from summers gone. The album is evocative, emotional, rocking, but I can't really sum it up in one sentence." His 21st studio album is being released in America via the Starbucks backed record label Hear Music. The full track-listing is as follows, according to GIGWise: # Dance Tonight # Ever Present Past # See Your Sunshine # Only Mama Knows # You Tell Me # Mister Bellamy # Gratitude # Vintage Clothes # That Was Me # Feet In The Clouds # House Of Wax # End Of The End # Nod Your Head Interesting. New album means tour, which means Beef will be going to see Paul McCartney.

A "Beatles Reunion" on 'Larry King Live'[/b] source: imdb
In what amounts to the first Beatles reunion -- of sorts -- Paul McCartney, Ringo Starr, Yoko Ono Lennon, and Olivia Harrison will be interviewed together on Larry King Live next Tuesday. Joining them will be Cirque du Soleil founder and CEO Guy Laliberté, whose Love show at The Mirage Hotel in Las Vegas, featuring digitally remixed recordings of the Beatles' music, is celebrating its one-year anniversary. Reporting on the telecast, Orlando Sentinel TV columnist Hal Boedeker commented, "McCartney and Ono together? That's a must-see, isn't it?"
end of article.

^Yes, awesome song. I used to listen to it so much as a little kid, like three or four, and I still associate it with my childhood.

I've been posting my album lists to kind of get some feedback and just to see them in different formats, so here we go: Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band Abbey Road Let it Be / Let it Be... Naked S/T Rubber Soul / Revolver Magical Mystery TourAlso, it's funny that my dad said that every third song played on the radio back in the 60s was by the Beatles. With that kind of oversaturation, it's no wonder so many people are indifferent to them. You can only listen to I Want To Hold Your Hand so many times.

Good but overrated is my vague opinion. I think lonely hearts club is one of the most overrated things ever but hey, that's just me I mean everything before lonely hearts is better and that is the album that always tops these best albums evereverevevevrrpoffolflniug. Ahem. Lists.

Ahem. Lists. It tops my list mainly because I really like it and slightly because it's underrated. I wasn't really too impressed with Rubber Soul and Revolver (can't really tell which album I'm listening to when I put either of 'em on), but that really is just a tentative list. I haven't heard half of those albums in a while, and I haven't heard all of their discography, so it's still rather incornplete.

I love every Beatles album from Rubber Soul on, with the possible exception of Magical Mystery Tour, which is mostly a collection of singles anyway. I do think Sergeant Pepper is overrated though. White Album and Abbey Road are better albums.
