This is my first post on this thread, so ill state my views on rap music. Im not the biggest fan of rap. I like the rap from the 90's which actually had a point to it. I do like Jay-z (is that how you spell it?), eminem, some 50 Cent, Tupac, Snoop Dog (who I saw in concert), Run DMC, Old Dirty Bastard, and Public Enemy. The modern stuff I hear has no point to it. Its just Rythm and Poetry. Im tired of hearing of the ghettoes, the hoes, drugs, guns and all that crap. I would like to hear a happy rap song for once. I respect the rappers that have a point but not the ones who just try to make a buck. I think the influence of new rap music on the youth of today is very bad. Most younger kids I know judge others on how they dress and how they act. It's just not cool. In conclusion, I think rap music is a good way to express one's self, but can be a bad thing if done without expression.

thank god, i shit myself when i heard that album, i am glad someone else heard it now (didn't know eatawiiner had heard it before). "shadowboxin'," "cold world," etc. etc. are all amazing, the whole cd is a rap masterpiece. i completely agree about how laid back it is, that is what i like. i hate how most new rap sounds so poppy and commericial compared to stuff like this.

hell yes! that odb cd is fantastic, and hilarious. "psycho killer: norman bates!" i downloaded that "iron man" album, but haven't listened to it yet. and i didn't know about that method man disc, now i will have to check that out.

any mobb deep fans? "shook ones part 2" is one of the best rap songs i have ever heard, although it had to grow and grow on me. man, when rap is good, i just love it.

Listened to KRS-One's Life earlier today. Twice, even. If that's one of his weaker albums, I'm definitely going to enjoy his better albums.

This guy is extremely underrated but extremely talented. His beats are mostly jazz-influenced and his lyrics are very smart. Listen to that (his single) and the song Home. Then download his album Stereotype and his mixtape On My Mixtape Shit. Both are great.

Everyone should check out Chiddy Bang, they use some of the best song samples ever and are just one of the best new rap groups ever. If you like Kid Cudi, B.O.B, ect. you should probably like them a lot! ive been listening to them for a while, since they weren't very popular and i think they are going to be huge! Check them out before they blow up!
