C.R.A.Z.Y. (Jean-Marc Vallée; 2005) has the frigging awesomest soundtrack I've ever heard! The Cure The Rolling Stones Janis Joplin Elvis Presley Pink Floyd David Bowie Patsy Cline ...and others that I forgot about. I also love that Nick Cave performed in Wings of Desire or Der Himmel über Berlin (Wim Wenders; 1987)

I think the best score ever made is probably The Passion of Joan of Arc I agree so much, the music, with the images, makes for one of the hardest hitting experiences ever. It is just perfect. I love that the Animals performed in Blow Up.

God damn, I knew exactly who it was, and even mentioned it out loud before posting, yet for some reason I posted that. I can't believe I would post the wrong band, I saw The Yardbirds live, and I mention them all the time, there should have been no reason for me to mention The Animals.

If you like that "So Cool" song, you should check out the film Badlands. It was the first to use the song, and the one in True Romance is either a rip-off, or the same version. Don't get me wrong though, I love it used in True Romance, but it is even more awesome in Badlands. Also, Royal Tenenbaums soundtrack is mind-blowing. The music fits so well with the images, and just every song in it is perfect. You seen any other Wes Anderson films? They all have great soundtracks.

of course! wes is my favourite.
the life aquatic score is BEYOND amazing actually, i'm not sure why i didn't write it before. ...probably because i'd go on and on with every film score; the elephant man for example. see! ok stop.

Great lists here, mine would probably have to contain (in no particular order):
Lord of the Rings (Howard Shore) Once Upon a Time in the West (Ennio Morricone) The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly (Ennio Morricone) Vertigo (Bernard Herrmann) Citizen Kane (Bernard Herrmann) Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon (Tan Dun) The Piano (Michael Nyman) Oldboy (Yeong-wook Jo) The Importance of Being Earnest (Charlie Mole) Dracula (Philip Glass) Koyanisqaatsi (Philip Glass) Henry V (Patrick Doyle) Hamlet (Patrick Doyle) Titus (Elliot Goldenthal) Kingdom of Heaven (Harry Gregson-Williams) Gangs of New York (Howard Shore) Sin City (Robert Rodriguez et al.) Planet Terror (Robert Rodriguez) The Incredibles (Michael Giacchino) The Last Temptation of Christ (Peter Gabriel) Rabbit-Proof Fence (Peter Gabriel)
Also any of Tarantino's compilation soundtracks, and the soundtrack to "O Brother Where Art Thou."

and the soundtrack to "O Brother Where Art Thou." Totally, I have "Man of Constant Sorrow" on my MP3 player. Such a great film and soundtrack.
