I went to the most awesome gig in the world last night (seven bands) and totally pulled a Cinderella on the hottest person in the world (except that the shoes I had on were messed up old gold ballet pumps, so I left him my number instead), met two of the coolest lesbians in the world with some awesome music taste, fell in love with two hot photographers, jumped until I couldn't anymore, strummed a hot bassist's guitar, etc. etc. etc. Whew! It was so hot...

Sounds like a great time Kayla I was ill, still am. I sat in bed and played Prey on my 360. Which is quite a rubbish game but im unlocking more nerdy gamerpoints by playing it

Ahhhh, what's wrong? Shame!
And what are gamerpoints?
Anyway, last night I was all up in that bassist's face, screaming and jumping, and so he bent down and held the chords for me so that I could "play", gawsh, it was so much fun. I'll be talking about this for the rest of the week, sorry.

Its all wrong! Sore throat, aching body, headache. Getting better though.... Oh and gamerpoints are achievement points you unlock by playing games on an xbox 360. They are quite addictive to get. You complete a level and get 20 points or whatever. Each game has 1000 to get

I don't know, bass has chords, doesn't it? Sorry if that wasn't the right thing to say, but you know what I meant.

Okay, what I meant was that his fingers were on those metal lines, at the top, and let me do the strumming.

Bass and guitar work the same way. He was probably fingering the chords and letting you strum them. It depends on the number of strings as to which instrument it was. Bass has 4 and guitar has 6.

After procrastinating for the whole midterm break (like right now), I'm busy with my business plan for Business Economics. After this I still need to do a research project on Tamara de Lempicka and finish my chair. In about four hours, I need to do all this. Pfff, I'm doomed.

Went to the opening of Alexander Payne's new theatre here in Omaha. Payne was there, gave a little intro, then we watched his favorite movie of all time: Seven Samurai. I got goosebumps when I saw the Janus Films logo. I must say, I love the film even more on my third viewing.
Tomorrow night I'm going to check it out again, and then the next film that they will be showing at the theatre is Viridiana. A few other notable upcoming ones are Modern Times, La Notte (which I've seen), The Wild Bunch, McCabe and Mrs Miller, and one of my favorite films of all time: 8 1/2.

Hey guys!
I'm probably going to be gone until the 1st - 2nd of September, so I'm saying goodbye quickly! From here I'm going in to write my last exam (Business Economics, urgh) at school and from there I'm hiking to my friend's house and from there we're going to that all-white party tonight. On Sunday afternoon I'm leaving for a school camp until Thursday, and then Thursday night I might be on, but on Friday I'm leaving for Cape Town. I'm staying in Cape Town for a week, and then from there I'm flying straight to my dad's house in the Eastern Cape where there isn't even electricity. So goodbye guys!
xx

It truly was a once in a lifetime experience. I was definitely the youngest person in the theater, but somehow I had a feeling I was the most excited. I didnt get a chance to see it today, but I'm definitely going to try and see it again tomorrow before it leaves. Viridiana starts playing Tuesday!

Erm got back from my little coastal break. The weather was great, mainly just chilled on the beach and ate lots The journey home sucked though. We thought we were getting a sleeper train but it turns out i wasn't So the journey was rather uncomfortable and tiring. I can't wait to get to my bed later! My mum won't let me sleep for a long itme in the day....the cow! But yeah, it was a fun time, nice to get away from home and forget the world for a while

The theater was actually packed. Before it started though, this lady came out and announced to the crowd that the film was borrowed from some archive at Stanford, and everything about it was okay besides the very last scene. At first I thought we'd completely miss out on seeing one of the most profoundly depressing endings in film history, but she told us that they would switch to a dvd of it at a certain point. All I can say from the experience is that seeing Antonioni on the big screen completely consumes your eyes, your ears, and your intellect. It was amazing. I'm trying to find someone to see Modern Times with tonight.

oh man!! jesus. did you ever find someone to see that? i can't imagine tons of people (edit: our age) wanting to see a silent film, or a film that old, but if you know some people who respect film, then maybe.
your la notte experience sounds awesome. that is awesome a lot of people were there!
