Halloween just because of its sheer influence on the horror genre as we know it, even though it is a bad influence.
The Tenant because of its metaphors about metal breakdown. It would fit perfectly in the collection.

Black Christmas would fit perfectly. It came before Halloween and while Halloween may be better, this does not get enough credit. Everyone gives credit to Halloween, when this should be getting most of the credit for starting the genre. Texas Chainsaw Massacre is the best horror film of alltime in my opinion. It does everything perfectly. It is the ultimate experience in grueling terror (no Evil Dead is not). I can not get over how this film has influence film as we know it. And Is easily one of the best films ever made. The score is so unconventional and scary. It was amazing on the big screen and I will never forgot how I felt after I saw it [on the big screen]. I just knew thier was nothing like it or will thier ever be. My dad had forgotten how truly great the film was until that moment! I may just go and write and in-depth film review sometime soon on this!

Suspiria is a horror-film worthy of Criterion. The acting is terrible, but the atmosphere is superb. I like the story a bit too. It deals with the subject "witches" with a suitable seriousness, and at the same time it manages to create this wonderful atmosphere that only horror can do. I`m far from an expert on this genre, but Suspiria sybolises what I feel about the horror-genre, with a few excpetions. The music, the camera, the colors. It all creates this unearthly (is this the right way to write the word?), genuine atmosphere that horror is all about. Atmosphere.

Frankenstein. Really set up horror films for decades to come. Also, Karloff's performance is unforgettable, as is the now-classic flower-picking scene with the little girl. May not be frightening by today's standards, but an absolute classic film in its own right.
