The lastest FG was the best. The show is way too out there, even comparable to some of the South Parks, but god damn is it ever funny.

Turns out I hadn't voted (?), so I just voted yes, lol. Anyways...
Family Guy to Retell Star Wars: Episode IV[/b] Source: Variety May 25, 2007
Fox's animated hit "Family Guy" will kick off its fifth season this September with an hourlong episode that retells the "Star Wars" saga using "Family Guy" characters.
Variety says Lucasfilm has blessed the event, which will have the Griffin family acting out all the key scenes and narrative from Star Wars: Episode IV A New Hope. "Family Guy" creator Seth MacFarlane is a major "Star Wars" fan and was personally involved in getting Lucasfilm on board.
Not surprisingly, family patriarch Peter Griffin will play the role of Han Solo, while mom Lois will appear as Princess Leia. Evil baby Stewie will be Darth Vader, natch.
Brian the family dog will serve as Chewbacca, while son Chris is Luke. Robots R2-D2 and C-3PO will be handled by Cleveland and Quagmire, respectively, while creepy old guy Herbert gets the Obi- Wan character.
The plot of the episode has the Griffin family stuck at home during a blackout. With no TV to entertain them, Peter decides to tell a story --- leading to the "Star Wars" flashback.
End of Article.
Oh God, they already did the ending in one of their episodes, this sounds stupid. Thoughts?

I think they'll do a great job, but i think all their new episodes have been gold.
"Hey baby, want to take a gander at some Adam West penis?"
How can that suck?

I like Family Guy. The simpsons is the stinky animated show. I don't get why people love the simpsons so much? I've seen it since I went to my grandmas house for cream cakes and scones aged 8. Its fucking boring now. I've seen every episode about 30 times each. Its ridiculous that the show can continue airing. The new episodes are poor and we get something like 8 old episodes shown per day in the UK. It gets on my nerves. Sure, some family guy is shit, but some of it is excellent. I tire of the overlong gags at times and the pop culture references to American personalities I haven't heard of, yet still the show is good. I believe that American Dad is a better show though. First season was very entertaining and generally clever. Weak moments here and there but the near the knuckle humour often worked and so did other elements.

And the star wars thing...I dont really like cartoons acting outside of their usual surroundings. But hey, that might have its moments. Anyway, it isn't like the Simpsons never did episodes like that. Eg Flat Tyre, cue Homer story about his teen years. Or, Marge might be pregnant, story about Barts childhood

Argh! Family Guy steals all the jokes, when you see a cutaway to something pointless, that was The Simpsons (who never overused it, or even had a chance to, since they stopped once Family Guy ruined it). Look at Family Guy, it is a copy of the Simpsons: The stupid father that drinks, the mom who goes through all those addictions and shit, the daughter and son, a dog, and instead of a baby that never says a word, we get one that never shuts the fuck up. It is Family Guy, in my opinion, that gets boring and annoying. Some jokes make me cringe at how bad they are, yet all the new episodes of The Simpsons do is make me laugh. Maybe you guys find the stuff Family Guy does funny. But I don't find poorly written, fart jokes, overused stolen stuff, to be funny. Notice all the cutaways, parodies and pop culture references; those are to hide terrible writing. Not to mention The Simpsons has meaning behind it. I will never see how people with fantastic taste in film, like something like this. ugh!
Oh, yeah, and The Simpsons have created characters we have grown to love, so true fans of the show love things like seeing Bart as a baby, etc. They did stuff like that before any animated show anyway, so I don't have a problem with it at all, especially when they are as well written as that. I literally cry at the end of some of them. Like the one when Maggie says "daddy" at the end, and many more.

I agree with you to an extent, I already stopped watching the Simpson's as I did not really find their constant "shenanigans" funny anymore... However, I hope you dont take this the wrong way or anything.. I thought it was kind of ironic for you to mention that pop culture references to american society, it goes both ways you see, Americans dont understand understand some humor from the UK and people from the UK dont understand humor from the US... Funny world we live in eh? Oh, and C- mastah... before you and Tim prepare my crucifixtion realize that your nonconditional love for all things Simpsons will eventually wane... As will your love for Franny and Alexander... Muh ahhahahhahahahah...

Yeah, of course pop culture references are missed each side of the pond But I know that some of Family Guy is terrribly and simplistically written and some of the cutaways get on my fucking nerves. Yet some episodes are very good. Of course it copies elements of the Simpsons yet I never think I'm watching the Simpsons. I think a new cartoon universe is created, despite how ripped it probably is from The Simpsons at times. Sure, the jokes get old as well. Still, I like it.

As will your love for Franny and Alexander... Muh ahhahahhahahahah... I, like Tim, have liked the show since I can remember, and there is no way I will ever not like it. In fact, if I ever get a chance, I will use the show sometime in my lifetime, no matter what I do for a living. It is just that good. And, no, my taste in film couldn't change so drastically as to not like Fanny and Alexander anymore. No matter how bad the show gets in future years, which I doubt it could become super bad, that will never change the fact that the original 10-11 seasons of the show is some of the most perfectly written, original, acted, etc., etc. ever. Yeah, of course pop culture references are missed each side of the pond But I know that some of Family Guy is terrribly and simplistically written and some of the cutaways get on my fucking nerves. I just don't know how you could say Family Guy is better, though. You have to at least admit that Simpsons is the better show? I mean, it has such better writing. And it rarely, if ever, does anything as annoying as Family Guy does, even if you think Family Guy's comedy is funnier.

Family Guy Movie Possible Source: The Hollywood Reporter July 22, 2007
The team behind Fox's hit animated show "Family Guy" has been looking at possibly working on a Family Guy movie down the line, creator Seth MacFarlane told The Hollywood Reporter.
"We have been trying to figure out how to do that and the series at the same time without the series suffering," MacFarlane said, adding that this is a challenge that also caused the "Simpsons" film to come about so late.
One possible solution, according to MacFarlane, is to have Ricky Blitt, the creator of "Winner" and a longtime ex-writer for "Family Guy" who has since moved on to other work, start on the movie script.
However, he emphasized that he had no plot ideas yet, and Fox studio executives would have to sign off on a film project as well. "Nothing is official," he said, adding that if all things come together, a movie could be ready in a couple of years.
MacFarlane also said he would like to find a small story about the Griffin family that can be explored in a feature-length film. "I don't want to do 'The Griffins must save the world,' " he said.
end of article.
oh my god, this dude is such a fucking retard. he implies the simpsons have suffered since they started working on the movie, and the last line he makes it seem like he is so much better than the simpsons by doing a small movie. he is such an ass. he acts like he is so better than the simpsons or something. god, i was sickened especially by the last line. he steals everything else from the simpsons, why not do it. not to mention they have already had like ten episodes with the end of the world, so them saving the world wouldn’t be any different.
