Does it suck? Explain your answer. I know I have said my thoughts a bunch of places but I will say them again when the time is right.

Yes, it sucks. It had some merit in seasons 1-3, but when the brought it back, it just started to suck. Not as god-awful as American Dad, though.

At least American Dad doesn't get talked about/praised every second.

Yeah, but that doesn't mean that Family Guy isn't better (not by much)

Yeah. I wouldn't be so mad if the show was getting praised and the praising actually had some merit. There is nothing about the show that has any quality. As you said before IT SHOULD HAVE NEVER COME BACK! It is now to redundant (it was before but now it went to far) and now they are stealing EVEN more.

I dont think family guy sucks. It has a few very funny jokes which are quite clever too. It mainly suffers from not having enough characters and constant repetition of gags. Giggety giggety and all that shit.

Quite clever because they took them from more clever shows.

It's too much of what Simpsons is all bout. Family Guy is a copycat. Thank God we have another hater! The new shows are some of the worst shows ever. I recently caught a newer episode and I sat there blankly. There was not one funny thing, maybe McFarland forgot how to copy The Simpsons?

damn right! The same goes for the American Dad show! About your experiance with feeling blankly, I do the same under watching Friends. I'm one of the few people who actually thinks that Friends sucks here in my hometown.

I completely agree with you good sir. You are the man. Friends and American Dad are both in my list of most hated and Friends is one of the most overrated shows of all-time.

Family Guy is hilarious. Sure, it steals a lot from The Simpsons, but the constant pop-culture references (Randy Newman was hilarious) and rapid fire gags make it brilliant.

It's too much of what Simpsons is all bout. Family Guy is a copycat. HA! Haven't you noticed ever since Family Guy was brought back to Sundays on Fox in May05 the simpsons have been getting more and more random with their jokes. More flashbacks, a tad more vulgar than recent years. Me thinks ever since they got new animators, the show went from bad to worse. '96 - '99 were good times for the simpsons, but now they are falling off, hard. Seth McFarland is a funny dude who does great voiceover work.

The flashbacks in the Simpsons began in season three or four. Family Guy took it from them.

Well the thing about that is that The Simpsons started all that. The random jokes, flashbacks, etc. so I don't have a problem with them (The Simpsons) doing it. But if you look there have been some classic episodes in the past few years, in fact some of my all-time favorites. And the past 2 or 3 seasons have been better than season 10-12 or whatever the "bad" seasons were, even though I still like those seasons as well.
Whereas for Family Guy, they still do the same things, I still watch the show, and I will admit to laughing sometimes, but the show can't come close to The Simpsons. It has no heart, it has repetitive jokes, it's too vulgar, and too many failed jokes (like all their parodies of TV shows). I do agree Seth does good voiceover though.
No show will ever come close to what Simpsons have done, and continue to do.

Hey man, thats like, your opinion or whatever....
Family Guy had heart. It used to show the closeness of the family in the first two seasons, but yea nowhere near as high as Simpsons shows family values in every episode that I can think of. I think Peter Griffin is infinitely funnier than Homer Simpson, but like, thats my opinion, or, whatever...
Also the flashbacks on the new simpsons feel much more random, when at first they at least dealt with the character/situation at hand. Now they are more like FG ex. "Hey remember that time me and Mr. T went to Sams Club last fall and got arrested for having a Greeko Roman Wrestling match in a kiddie pool filled with cheez wiz?" (Cuts to said scene, add anti semetic/ethnic smell joke also)
I't cant be just me because i've had this same conversation with someone who had felt the same way since FG came back and blew up again.

Well even if you think that Peter is funnier than Homer, Family Guy doesn't come close to having as great a cast of supporting characters. Basically every single one is funny. And don't the jokes on Family Guy get repetitive to you? I mean some episodes have the same joke 10+ times, and jokes that weren't very funny to begin with.
I will admit to owning the first batch of season sets, which I can sometimes watch a laugh at, so yeah, I agree it was definitely better in the first few seasons.

The Simpsons cast IS great, I would say that they have a stronger feeling of community within Springfield compared to FG's Quahog. But c'mon, Quagmire, Mayor Adam West, Greased-up Deaf Guy, those guys are hilarious. I cant think of one character on Simpson's that comes close to Adam West comic genius, beside's when Adam West was on The Simpson's.

Thanks so much for posting that. I read the whole thing and it made for a very interesting read. I didn't even realize all the stuff Family Guy had ripped off, even if it was "unintentional." It made me dislike the show even more. I may have to show this article around at my school. And yes, Friends is easily one of the biggest piles of dog shit ever on TV. Take my Gridiron Gang review from a while back, but instead of sports clichés, we got TV show clichés and the whole thing would apply. The characters are ridiculously annoying and the jokes as stale as the chip Telly ate in Kids. It shows how stupid people are (or can be) if they can fall in love with a show that is so poorly and stereotypically written, and a show in which they have already seen everything that appears on it. Never have they got a more annoying and talent-less cast in one place as well.

Before I'd ever seen it, I couldn't wait to. I thought it HAD to be good! The first time I saw it, I just sat there in disgust. I was like: WHAT? And I stood up and left. I've tried watching it a few times after that again but every time my despair for the world just grows.

That has to be one of the best wiki articles ever! I've never laughed more!
"What I can tell you that was pretty interesting, was the day after that episode aired, we got flowers from The Simpsons. We got calls from King of the Hill, saying we were doing God's work. It's not just our opinion."
