Why does most TV suck so bad, I mean seriously there is like nothing worth watching?

The Office is good. I don't get HBO, so I've seen few of their shows. I've been meaning to check Entourage out though.

Entourage is definitely worth checking out. Especially if you love the film industry. There's been cameos by a ton of celebrities, most notably James Cameron and Paul Haggis as themselves, and there's a lot of jokes having to do with movies. Great stuff. It's a comedy that doesn't require the brain that much, though. Just to kick back and have a fun 25 minutes.

Currently worth watching: Boston Legal Two and a Half Men (sometimes)
Nothin' else, and I barely even catch those shows.

The only programmes I watch sometimes are CSI (any which one they're showing), and Body Hits (when i can catch it, South African television is very sporadic in airing this).

I don't think the question is "what's the best shows on tv?". cm asks a very complicated question, and that is, as I read it, "What aspects is it that prevent most tv-shows to be great?", or something. It's a huge job to begin to write something about that, and I'm too lazy to do so for the moment. I will try to think about this more than I've already done, and then come back with some thoughts (if I find some interesting ones, that is).

TV sucks because its another addiction people can form and it integrates itself into peoples lives to the point were it takes time away from living life and sharing experiences with others.
But I don't care about that shit, I would just die if I didn't have 'The Office' to show me why its important to laugh at the stupid shit in life.

Maybe it could be because programme directors/producers found a few concepts (example: hospital comedy/dramas, black family comedies with an incessant laugh track) that the masses find entertaining and have twisted and turned it every which way until there's nothing left and you're sat with a string of unentertaining junk that's all the same anyway. My opinion.

Television is a ridiculously underrated medium among film buffs. I mean, "Twin Peaks" anyone?

:-( I haven't even watched Tiwn Peaks, before my time! I have the soundtrack though, it's very good. I also can't find it in shops though... I looked for the DVD.
You can't blame us for not really enjoying television, though. I mean, take a look at what we're force-fed these days. Ugh.
Although I guess you can say that about films as well, there is alot of junk out there in the film world as well.

there are plenty of good shows, they just get cancled because noone watches them because they don't advertise and most people prefer stupid shit. Stella for instance. Comedy Central had this awsome show that only got 13 episodes because it was way to smart for thouse people who watch Mind of Mencia. I hate that every show i like gets cancled. right now only Reno 911 and Scrubs are the only shows on now i like and sadly scrubs is on their last season
