I LOVE Bottle Rocket!!!!
1. Rushmore 2. Royal Tenenbaums 3. Bottle Rocket 4. Life Aquatic
He is one of the few directors that I can think of who have never made a bad film. Hell he hasn't even made a mediocre film. His little touches he puts in the films is what I think makes thier replay value everlasting. I can watch Tenenbaums 100 times and notice something different each time. And his soundtracks are perfect. I just am crying thinking about how much I love his films!!!! Where is my fucking Bottle Rocket Criterion!?

So, um, I've only seen the Royal Tenenbaums. I own Bottle Rocket.
The Royal Tenenbaums took me a few days to really get into (first half on one day, second half a few days later). And I've heard this before; his movies are a little hard to get into. You know, like you need to watch one of his movies a couple of times before you start to like it.
Just a kind of alternate opinion to all the current opinions. I'll check out his other movies eventually, and I don't have any real negative opinions on him, so it's all good.

Only seen Rushmore... Decent film, but not my thing. He's really good that Anderson. It's gonna be interesting to see how he develop cinematically.

Rushmores a friggin masterpiece.
So many magic momets, Dirk Calloway, The John Lennon - Oh Yoko montage, Bill Murray throwing golfballs and bombing into the pool, the little moemts of truth like Murrays last line talking to Max in the lift, the ending!
If I wasn't so afriad of cliches I'd call it pure cinema.

Since there has been some confusion: I liked the Royal Tenenbaums. I didn't love it, but after I got to the end, I really enjoyed it. 9/10Bottle Rocket is enjoyable. I mean I've watched it three times, I think the only movie I've seen more than that is Roundhay Garden Scene. So I don't hate it or anything, I just don't like it as much as the Royal Tenenbaums. 8/10I still don't have any specific examples as to why I don't dry hump Bottle Rocket or Wes Anderson.

Oh, I guess I forgot to tell you I saw Bottle Rocket for the first time a few days ago. I thought it was very so-so. Too light-weight, kinda. It seemed more or less like a standard "from-youth-to-manhood" (without the manhood) type of deal, with only a few aspects revealing that I watch something only a little bit better than the standard drama-comedy. The dialogue has a certain flow that I nearly admire, but the film is too hollow and uninteresting as a whole. Far from the near-brilliance of Rushmore...
