Chaplin's films are still funny to this day which shows true genius. My favorite (excluding the famous ones: i.e. Modern Times, etc.) has to be "His New Job" from 1915.

Probably Eisenstein's October and The Battleship Potemkin.
Modern Times is probably my favorite Chaplin film. It actually got him in trouble with the Senate Committee for Un-American Activities, who deported him out of the country.
