I saw this short movie a few days ago, and I still don't really know what to think of it. So, tell me what you thought of it. And if you don't know, go watch it. I should watch it again; maybe after a few comments roll in.

Thanks for posting this old Frankenstein film. I think it was pretty good, and it's always interesting to see old footage like this (film is always interesting, do not get me wrong), and I think this piece of horror had some nice shots. I espesially liked the scenes with the mirror opening up more than just the "camera eye" can do.

My thoughts on it were basically that it was enjoyable enough, it had some nifty things in it, and I'm certainly glad that it was re-discovered, but it's not one of my favorite shorts.

I liked how the shades were used, when Frankenstein was at home it was grey and when he was creating the monster it was orange. Even if unintentional I still liked it. Stuff like it is still being used today. It was interesting seeing what the Frankenstein monster originally looked like, very different than what we think of him today. I love the use of the mirror at the end, it was amazing.
Overall, while interesting, I would probably not watch it again.

I really enjoyed it. I think its a great film. I has read in various horror film books that the 1910 version was lost. Did they recently discover it?

Did they recently discover it? "For many years, this film was believed to be lost, with only a single image of Ogle in costume serving to illustrate the film, and a plot description from an Edison film catalog. In the 1950s a print of this film was purchased by a Wisconsin film collector, Alois Dettlaff, who did not realize its rarity until many years later. Its existence was first revealed in the mid-1970s. Although somewhat deteriorated, the film was in viewable condition, complete with titles and tints as seen in 1910." - WikipediaI should probably watch it again.

Well if you want to go more in-depth. The asshole that found the film, instead of giving it to a film museum or something like Criterion, he held onto it, why? Because he is a greedy bastard. Even after the film was long in the public domain he wouldn't give it up, finally he gave a print of the film with his initials huge over the film, and the film was released on DVD for tons of money. Then overtime he put his initials in three of the four corners (the version we watched) and died, so the film can now be viewed for free, like it should be, but with his f-in’ initials on it!
I love stories like that, especially the Passion of Joan of Arc story, that's amazing.

Watch it again, there are three corners with little things, like the MTV things in the corner of the TV, but these have his initials in them. They are blurry, but are there.
