I actually don't think this is one of the best Hitchcock films, it is a masterpiece, but not one of the best. I would actually give it a 9/10 at the moment, maybe when I re-watch it I will give it a 10/10. I have seen it so many times though so that won't happen for a while.
I love how in the one scene you can clearly see that little kid cover his ears before the man fires the gun.

I don't know what it is, I was blown away by it at first but it hasn't really stuck with me as much as I wished. Maybe because it is just a fun, well-made film, and doesn't go much deeper.

You give a bunch of just fun, well-made films 10's. Yeah, if I have then either 1.) I am not as sick of them, or haven't seen them as many times, or 2.) they were more fun then this film. Can you give any examples?

Some of these are more then just fun, well-made films but I think North by Northwest is more then just a fun, well-made film then these are so thats way I am saying them. Spider Man 2, Catch Me If You Can, Pulp Fiction, Reservoir Dogs, Kill Bill, Usual Suspects, Fight Club, American Beauty, American History X, the Sixth Sense, Back to the Future 1 & 2, Stand by Me... I don't know if you consider all of these films just fun and well-made, but I don't know exactly what films you are talking about when you say fun and well-made. So I just said these. I also don't know if you give all of these a ten, but I do know you give most/all of them 10's.

Yeah, a lot of those have other reasons why I give them a ten, they stand out and some of those I don't give tens. And a lot of those are different genres then this so it's different, as well. For me the film just doesn't stand out as being better than most of the cock's I find to be masterpieces.

Well The Sixth Sense would be a fun film for me, not in terms of content, but just based on it being a "light watch." Doesn't take too much for me to watch that film (unlike it predecessor, or the film it ripped off, Fanny and Alexander), although for American History X, that actually has its fun moments, but it is way too thought-provoking for me to call it "light." That film gets me into some debating. (Possibility for a thread, based on the film AND the message behind the film, could have some good debate)
Maybe you are right blackmoses, I will give it a re-watch, and there is still the commentary on the disc I haven't watched, so it will be good to watch it again sometime.

The reason I said American History X is fun, is because it is easy to watch(for me at least). I could probably watch it almost anytime. Most of the time when I say something is fun I and also meaning it is easy to watch.
