The Excellent film portaying the life of T.E. Lawrence, the man who brought unity and freedom to Arabian Countries. Despite the Length of the film, it is a masterpiece. It won 7 oscars and has several other minor awards. This was made by the same people who made the other great film "The Bridge over the River Kwai". Lawrence of Arabia was voted the 18th Greatest Film of all time by Entertainment Weekly. The entire restored version equals up to 227 minutes including the overture and the intermission. Here are two summaries: 1:A biography of T.E.Lawrence. The young lieutenant Lawrence manages to get a job as an observer with Prince Feisal, the leader of an Arab tribal army. Lawrence decides to stay and help Feisal. His adventures are detailed by Jackson Bentley, a journalist. 2:T. E. Lawrence is a young maladjusted lieutenant in the British Army in North Africa during World War One. Unhappy with his current assignment coloring maps, he is ecstatic when he is offered a job as an observer in what is now Arabia. At this point, the story of his life becomes the stuff that legends are made of. you can see the Trailer at: www.ifilm.com/video/2672384

Totally a classic. O Toole's performance is probably the best ever. I could watch this anytime, anyplace, with anyone and still enjoy it immensely.

I haven't seen this film yet, and I might as well kill myself, but I have a funny story to tell relating to the film.
It was on TV one day, probably TCM and I had already missed close to an hour of it, and we were leaving to go get a haircut, we left the channel on and when we came home which took like an hour and 20 minutes we forgot the film was still on and I looked at the screen and noticed it had just gone to intermission. My dad and I laughed for a while about it.
Well at least it was amusing to me, but I really do need to see this film, I will probably just buy it sometime soon.

make sure you watch it on as big a screen as possible...just sit back and you can even almost forget the plot...just watching the images is enough to know that this is one of the greatest films ever made.
