Going in order: Any others I might have missed by the way?? Grave of the FirefliesMy Neighbor TotoroAkiraSan SoleilDay of the DeadRe-Animator(two on the list) TronElephant ManA Better Tomorrow 1 or 2I don't feel too terribly inspired by the movies of the 80s, but I always seem to be reminded that I do have some favorite movies that were made in the 80s. Oh well, it happens.

My votes on either Star Wars or a Spielberg... I can't choose! Any others I might have missed by the way?? yeah, anything foreign. I would've voted for Raging Bull anyway, but not having Ran as the leading foreign contingent is criminal. And like Beef said, where's Amadeus?

you might wanna spell San S Soleil correctly. have you seen it? Yeah, I've seen it. And I won't correct myself just because you were so rude.

Where's my damn Wings of Desire? Fuck that!
Anyway, I voted Withnail and I, because it's my favourite film on that list and the funniest film I've EVER seen.
Anddd... We need some Paris, Texas and How to Get Ahead in Advertising, too.

Also, I utterly refuse to believe so many good or decent movies came out of the 80s. I will not believe it.

hahaha, truly there were some greats! can't believe i missed so many others thought. but what seems to be the main problem with the 'best film polls' is there's not really enough spaces for film choices and at the start they are just off the top of ur head really! i completely forgot about any foreign films... apologies

Fuck that, that's my second-favourite film, and it WAS on the list. And it's incredibly good.

I was talking about Wings of Desire. Thanks (aka Karma) for mentioning it too, wkw.

fanny and alexander is the best film of the 80's, in fact, the best film ever. but i think this is the worst decade for film, probably, ever. does anyone else feel that way? i mean, there are some great films, but all the other decades just crush.

I don't think so, I've counted five of my favourites just in this thread (oh, and some Monty Python was also in the eighties). I probably just have bad taste, but that comment doesn't work for me.

I can't really find one decade worse than the other, I don't know if it's because I haven't seen enough films or if there are really good and really bad films in each decade.
