At the Horror Fest, I overheard the guy that runs it talking about getting an advance screening of this film in Erie. I am looking forward to this so fucking much, I can't wait!

Hellboy is a blast, seriously you need to watch it again. I am very surprised that you didn't like it, seems to be your type of film. The Devil's Backbone is shocking, it must be seen. Cronos was cool as well, though not as good as Backbone. Mimic is about killing bugs, you would like it. Del Toro is one of the better directors around today and Labyrinth hasn't got a bad review. You should maybe forget that you are a snob for a sec, and check his stuff out.

This is one of the best new movies I've seen lately. In my opinion it is a perfect movie with many layers. I've always loved del Toro's language, and in this movie he really use his craftmanship to the very utmost. If you are interested in the visual language, you should check out the work of Francisco Goya. I feel i could write much more about the movie, but if I get it right many of you have'nt seen it yet, so I'll wait. I got the korean DVD on friday, and will watch it again this week

Pans has scooped two Oscars already, maybe this is the year the Academy finally diversifies.

it'd be diversified if Pan's Labyrinth got a best picture nomination like it should have.

I was actually kinda happy someone less popular won, did you see how happy he was. It gets me excited to see that, and I haven't seen any of the films so I don't really know which was best.

Yeah, the dude was crying. Del Toro seemed way happier than you'd think, too. He even hugged the dude.

I really don't care much about these awards, but I must say that it is great to read that this movie got some glory. It really deserved it. But I was kind of dissapointed that it did not win the best score though.

I haven't seen it, but I'm against downloading. I will wait for the rental, but others would advise downloading.

I saw this film and was just amazed, they were able to make two perfect films, one a war film, the other a fantasy. It made it so that I wanted both to be full-length features, so I wouldn’t be interrupted by the other story. The visuals, performances, especially from the girl, were outstanding, the effects, the writing, all perfect. I want to know what you think, because my parents had two different interpretations of the ending. My mom thought that she really became a princess by leaving the world she was in, and that it was all her imagination. My dad then pointed out that yeah, one [other] thing that could lean in that way is that the chalk was still on the wall, like she had just been drawing on there and pretending. But my dad did feel she was a real princess because some of the things didn’t seem like they could happen any other way, like getting the chalk in the first place, and many other things like that. Another interesting thing my dad pointed out was that he thought the Faun was going to be bad because at one point the doctor said something about listening to the captain, like only someone like you could do what someone says without questioning or something, I don’t quite remember. Then later, the Faun told the girl “you must do as I say, without questioning.” Just a little interesting thing. So I really don’t know which way I am leaning towards, and want to know what others thought. Either way, it was just an amazing, magical experience. Glad I got to see it in the theater. I am glad there is still some hope in new films, even though a teacher at my school mentioned he had seen it and all the kids were like "what is that?? Where do you see these movies??" I almost threw up.

So happy you liked it. My personal interpretation of the ending is... That Olivia imagined the whole thing, but by dying, the world became real I thing both are valid, but after thinking about the film for almost two months, this is the one that most agrees with me. You really should check out Cronos and Devil's Backbone. His Hollywood films (while I like some of them) don't show his true talent at all. Devil's Backbone is one of the creepiest films I've seen in years. But, Pan's Labyrinth is his masterpiece, just a phenomenal film.
