BEED'S FAVORITE MOVIE GETS A SEQUEL!!!
National Treasure Sequel Getting Started Source: LA Daily News August 3, 2006
Director Jon Turteltaub tells the LA Daily News that the sequel to Disney's 2004 Nicolas Cage hit, National Treasure, will start filming the first of the year.
"We are just about to start preproduction," says Turteltaub. "We'll have Nic, Justin Bartha, Diane Kruger, Jon Voight and Harvey Keitel... Everyone's back except anyone who's in jail or died."
He adds that the sequel will take our intrepid adventurers to "exciting destinations within America as well as around the world. As we were shooting the first one, it kept changing, so I'm scared to commit to anything, but I wouldn't be surprised if Mount Rushmore made an appearance."
Like the first film, Turteltaub co-produces with Jerry Bruckheimer.

Just in case anyone thought this, I hate the first movie and will never see this one. I'm sure BeeD will love it though.

I won't see this. I DO admit to liking the first one as an extreme guilty pleasure. But a sequel?? Nope.

National Treasure Sequel to Film at Mount Rushmore Source: The Rapid City Journal March 15, 2007
The Rapid City Journal reports that Disney will film National Treasure: Book of Secrets at Mount Rushmore National Memorial next month. Here's a clip:
Plans include location shooting at Mount Rushmore's Hall of Records, the tall tunnel carved directly behind the monument itself. Baker said he told the producers he wanted only a small film crew to go up there, and he said they were willing to reduce the size of the crew.
"It's an area of concern from a safety standpoint and a security standpoint. I don't mind a few (people) up there," Baker said.
The producers had no plans to film on the face of Mount Rushmore, which is off limits, Baker said.

Ugh. The first was alright (overstatement) but a sequel is pushing the limits on bad.
