WIDE RELEASES
300 (Zack Snyder)
IMDb Description: In 480 B.C., Spartan king Leonidas (Butler) leads 300 of his warriors into battle with the Persian army, who are bent on conquering Greece.
My Opinion: I am really mixed on Dawn of the Dead remake, but I like Miller, and this has been getting great things said about it, so I will probably see it sometime, though I will skip the theater.
[/b]My Thoughts:[/b] I haven't heard anything about this, and it looks pretty lame to me, plus the fact it is only in 6 theaters. Unless someone tells me it is good...300 (Zack Snyder)

LIMITED RELEASES
The Ultimate Gift [800 theaters] (Michael O. Sajbel)
IMDb Description: A privileged young man (Fuller) learns to rethink his life, thanks to a series of tasks his recently deceased grandfather (Garner) has him accomplish as part of his inheritance.
My Opinion: The plot sounds stupid, like an 80's comedy. He has to do a bunch of tasks to inherit the money and what not. I say, skip this pile, it doesn't even have a single person part of it that I even know.
The Host [75 theaters] (Joon-ho Bong)
IMDB Description: U.S. military negligence leads to the creation of a mutant beast living in Seoul's Han river; as the city scrambles to defend itself against the surface-bound monster, scientists learn it has become the carrier of a deadly new virus.
My Thoughts: Sounds and looks like a blast, hopefully they went for a Godzilla-esque film by making it so bad it is good. I will probably check this out someday.
The Namesake
[6 theaters] (Mira Nair)
IMDB Description: As Gogol (Penn) struggles to find a balance between his life in New York and his Indian heritage, his father (Khan) decides to tell him how his name is tied to his family's journey from Calcutta to America.

Maxed Out: Hard Times, Easy Credit and the Era of Predatory Lenders [6 theaters] (James D. Scurlock)
IMDB Description: A documentary on the credit-lending industry's barbed relationship with the American public.
My Thoughts: Not something I am interested in at all.
Exterminating Angels [1 theater - NYC] (Jean-Claude Brisseau)
IMDB Description: A filmmaker (van den Driessche) holds a series of boundary-pushing auditions for his project about female pleasure.
My Thoughts: This interests me, and it doesn't have anything to do with Bunuel's Exterminating Angel. Too bad it is only in one theater right now, I guess I will have to wait to hear some thoughts on it...[/center]
