Okay... This isn't a "New Release", but it's going to be. I'm really, really, really upset by this. There is no way the beauty of this book could be captured in one simple little movie, and especially not by Johnny Depp. Oh my word! I feel violated, betrayed, and over all very angry. People all over the world are going to watch this piece of shit movie and not ever experience what the actual book has to offer, and miss out on life. I'm very, very, very, very, very sad.

Oh, in that link, add the (film) which I see, for some reason, has been left out.

"Peter Weir was initially attached to direct and began pre-production before having creative differences with producer/star Johnny Depp on the adaptation"
If that would have happened, then the film probably would have been great. I love Weir, a lot. Still, I have never heard of the book before, but I do like Depp, there is a slim chance this could be good. I briefly clicked the director of this film's name, and it said he had a film at Cannes and stuff, you should be lucky some, at least, fairly talented people are involved, unlike most films that come out.

So what would it mean if Weir had "creative differences" with Depp? It would seem to me that all that could have been good about the film is now lost. I don't like Depp at all.
I guess the film will be okay, maybe, but the thing that pisses me off is that a film, any film, directed by anyone, couldn't do this book any justice. It's just too rich to be crammed into two hours of film.
