WIDE RELEASES

28 Weeks Later... (Juan Carlos Fresnadillo)

IMDb Description: Six months after London was struck by the rage virus, the city is being carefully repopulated by the U.S. Army. Though under quarantine, a carrier of the virus is admitted to the city and unknowningly causes a second deadly outbreak.
My Opinion: I like the first one, but this one is not needed. The trailer looks alright, but I think they are stretching it trying to make another one.

Georgia Rule (Garry Marshall)

IMDB Description: A rebellious young woman (Lohan) is hauled off by her mom (Huffman) for a summer with her grandmother (Fonda).
My Opinion: Three actresses that I am not fans of, are in a film that looks like complete, non-well-written, cliched, crap.

Delta Farce (C.B. Harding)

IMDB Description: Three pals head off for a weekend of beer drinking beer and gun shooting, only to be misidentified as Army Reservists and loaded on to a plane headed for Iraq. Further mistakes are made as the trio is ejected somewhere over Mexico, crash-landing in the middle of a village that's run by a local warlord. Will they finish their beers and fight for Mexican justice -- even though they believe they're really somewhere in the Middle East?
My Opinion: Why are there no good movies being made anymore? Larry the fucking Cable GAY is one of the least funniest, most annoying people on Earth. I would/could never watch any movie with him in it, not that I would want to. This is going to be god-awful, trust me.

LIMITED RELEASES

The Ex (Jesse Peretz)

IMDb Description: Slacker Tom Reilly (Braff) is forced to work for his father-in-law (Grodin) after his wife (Peet) steps away from her high-paying job in order to care for their new baby. The pressures at work and at home are bridged when Tom discovers his new co-worker (Bateman) has a history with his wife.
My Opinion: I fucking hate Braff so much. He is so terrible, and looking at him makes me want to kill someone. Seeing him as a slacker is not something I would ever see.

Home of the Brave (Irwin Winkler)

IMDB Description: Right at the end of their respective assignments in Iraq, four American soldiers look to complete a final mission, to bring medical supplies to a remote village. Ambushed, the unit suffers heavy losses, and the survivors are then forced to try and readjust to life at home.
My Thoughts: Maybe could have been good, if it didn't have 50 Cent in it. It is probably just complete crap though. Jackson is good, sometimes.

The Salon (Mark Brown)

IMDB Description: As a feisty salon owner (Fox) fights to save her business from foreclosure, she falls for the lawyer (Henson) who represents the city's interest in her building.

[/b]My Thoughts:[/b] Holy JESUS! Another BarberSuck rip-off?! It makes me ill to do these releases and see so much crap.

Blind Dating (James Keach)

IMDB Description: Danny (Pine) is a a handsome young man who happens to be blind. And a virgin. Can he overcome a sweetly meddling older brother (Thomas) and the fact that the one woman (Jay) he's mutually interested in is locked in her upcoming arranged marriage?
My Thoughts: HOLY FUCK! I spoke to soon. This is exactly like all the other shit coming out...terrrible![/center]

Not to mention Godzilla 3D to the MAX.

I'm actually really looking forward to 28 weeks later. It's kinda nice to see a somewhat intentionally serious zombie movie with decent production values apart from Land of the Dead. From the looks of the trailer it seems that they have a good mix of action and seriousness.

Surprisingly, 28 Weeks Later is receiving very positive reviews. I might see it after all.

Yeah, although, when I said "no good movies," I should have said "no good American movies," and if I am right, Paprika is not American. But yeah, Grindhouse was great. It seems like the only good movies that usually come out [in America] are from directors that were already previously established. In fact, me and ptahole were talking about this earlier today. Would you agree? Or do you even know what I mean, since Tarantino and Rodriguez both got established in the early 90's, so they are able to get in and make movies [that they want to make, and ones that actually have merit/are good]?

There are probably a couple of other serious zombie films, also, you can't forget that these zombies are infected with rage, so it is pretty different than most "zombie" movies.

Scott in the New York Times, is "not for the faint of heart or the weak of stomach." Nevertheless, he argues, it is "bracingly smart, both in its ideas and in its techniques." Jack Mathews in the New York Daily News deems Later "an even happier surprise than the original" with "a stronger story line, equally fine performances, greater tension, enough gore to satisfy the most hard-core zombie fan, and a narrative pace that flings us from the opening scenes to the very last image." There was only one release for this week, so I didn't put it, but it was Shrek the Third, I mean, how bad does that look?!

It got terrible reviews too. Honestly, I actually liked the first two movies, but a third one really wasn't needed.

I agree with ptahole, the first one is pretty good, but the second one is really just bad. It didn't need to be made at all, and didn't have whatever the first one did that made it good. Now a third one, they are overdoing it so much.

The second one was fun, nothing more, nothing less. I saw it awhile ago though, so I don't know if I would like it these days.

Yea, I agree. First and second ones were amazing... the third looks liek teh shitz. The fourth one was definatly hot liek intrewebz. So bscly i like the 4th one teh best. bscly.

DreamWorks Animation plans to produce two more Shrek movies before shutting down the franchise, CEO Jeffrey Katzenberg has told the Australian newspaper The Age. "It's a finite story, has been from the beginning and I think that's part of its integrity, part of its strength, that we're not thinking this up as we go," he said in an interview with the Melbourne newspaper. "Ultimately we will come back to understand how Shrek arrived in that swamp. We will reveal his story." Although acknowledging that he is committed to making movies that will make money for DreamWorks' investors, Katzenberg maintained that he himself never thinks about money. "I've never done anything in my entire life for money. ... I'm amazingly disengaged from it, always have been. I probably would have done even better had I ever paid any attention to it. [His wealth is estimated at $800 million.] My partner David Geffen is a genius at it. He's worth a gajillion times more than me because he does pay attention to it -- he's brilliant at investing."
