Alien vs. Predator 2 Gets Snazzy New Title
In a move that is certain to make millions of moviegoers more excited about seeing the film, 20th Century Fox has announced that it's changing the title of Alien vs. Predator 2 to Aliens vs. Predator: Requiem.
We don't have a trailer to show you yet, but ComingSoon, along with giving us the new title, shares a nail-biting synopsis for the highly anticipated sequel to the 2004 classic Alien vs. Predator:
In the film, the iconic monsters from two of the scariest film franchises ever wage war in an American Midwestern town -- with the residents caught in the middle. David Paetkau, John Ortiz, Johnny Lewis, Reiko Aylesworth, Sam Trammell, Shareeka Epps and Steven Pasquale star.
There you have it -- Aliens and Predators, duking it out in the Midwest. Who wants to lay odds that the film's climactic battle takes place in a Wal-Mart?
Aliens vs. Predator: Requiem is scheduled for what will surely be a record-breaking Christmas Day opening.
Source: ComingSoon.net
I found that article on RottenTomatoes and I really want to know, who cares?? This is a sequel to one of the worst movies ever and it is like the top story on ComingSoon? And seriously, record-breaking Christmas weekend?

Aliens vs. Predators duking it out in the Midwest? I'd be a lot more interested if it was the Old West. That'd be interesting.

Hahah the first trailer is up: www.avp-r.com/trailer.htmlI might see this. The trailer looks like a montage of the goriest killings ever. It still looks terrible, but it looks like a nonstop blood and disembowelment fest. I might just pretend like I don't know it is part of the Alien or Predator series and act like it is just another crappy horror film when I see it. What do you guys think?

Looks like a HUGE improvement over the disappointment that was AVP.

haha, i really hated the original, but you might be right dontdigonswine, i could just look at this as a terrible movie, but one that might be really funny and bad at the same time. definitely don't count the first one in either of the series', so i ain't counting this one either lol. there is no way for it to be worse than the first (i hope .

Here's the one-sheet: I'm thinking that Fox changed the title from AVP2 to Aliens Vs Predator: Requiem so that they could abbreviate it as AVP R because they knew that the PG-13 rating pissed people off so they are trying to show that this is rated R. Kind of funny actually.

that "r" looks so funny, you are probably right slapshot, they made the "r" in blood red, too. if they are trying to please the fans with this stupid "r" rating thing, maybe they should please the fans in another way, and make the film actually good. it could be rated fucking "g" and i wouldn't care, as long as it is good.
