Great list but I still think you should put Fanny at number 1 and take Pulp Fiction off or just put it lower, and while your at it throw some more Cassavetes in your list.

Movies dont have to be fun. Theirs a well known quote by Tarkovsky which goes something like

'entertainment is demeening to the artist and to the viewer'

Its what you want from a film, doesn't make you pretentious, some people want more than fun when they watch a film, though that is not to say that some films on that list dont have slightly fun elements. They just aren't popcorn trash like star wars thats all.

The Three Burials of Melquiades Estrada is my favorite film of 2006 this far! I actually think it's top 15-30 material! I was THAT impressed! I love countryside films, I appreaciate film with good nature, litterary speaking.
