Here are two days of the Horror Fest. Feel free to comment, or post any stories you have.
Alright the whole festival kicked off with a showing of Halloween (1978) and a cast reunion.
Halloween (re-watch) 10/10
As you all have probably seen this film I will just let you know that this is one of the best examples of true horror ever put on film. The theater experience was like no other, the score to the film boomed around us in excellent surround sound. It was an absolutely perfect experience and actually made me appreciate the film even more than I already did.
As the film ended we began to see the original cast of Halloween emerge, the people we were just rooting for, or against coming out. The reunion featured the following cast members: P.J. Soles (Lynda van der Klok), Nancy Loomis (Annie Brackett), Charles Cyphers (Sheriff Leigh Brackett), Brian Andrews (Tommy Doyle), and Tony Moran (Michael Myers).
The Q and A was great, much more interesting than just seeing them in a documentary of something. The only problem I had was that Nancy Loomis talked so slow, it seemed like she didn’t even have any clue what was going on. Other than that it was amazing.
Afterwards they were staying to sign autographs, I of course being the always prepared man I am, had both Halloween and Stripes but to my chagrin they were CHARGING for autographs! I didn’t even think that was possible, last year they did not charge for any autographs, especially if you brought you own DVD’s. But before I realized I got a Charles Cyphers autograph on my Halloween DVD and he let me have it for free since I didn’t have any money.
I also forgot to mention, before that disappointment, was the first time I had heard that Romero wasn’t going to be there. So both disappointments made me very sad but the night was still excellent. But really I didn’t know how the rest of the festival would be like, without Romero and all.
The next day started right after school and featured four films I knew nothing about.
At the Beach 5/10
An average short film, while the opening and middle were quite good at creating a creepy, even if unoriginal, feel, the ending completely failed for me. It somewhat just dropped off into nothing.
Absence 7.5/10
I really liked this film, told in three different segments that all come together at the end. It featured some bad performance but others were really good. I loved the way you never quite knew what was going on until the last segment where you started to realize. The end was amazing.

All is Normal 9/10
Absolutely blew me away, it dealt with so many things most horror films, if they ever try to show, fail miserably at. It had elements from some classic films mixed in as well, like Diabolique. It was just excellent and if anyone on here gets the chance please try to seek it out, it’s worth finding.

Finally:
Butcher House ?/10
I have no idea how to rate this film, it was such a blast but was so terrible. It had some hilarious one-liners that I couldn’t stop laughing at. It was just ridiculous featuring a bunch of kids who unleash a wild-ass butcher in a meat house. They are trapped in and have to fight this evil spirit off. It truly has the perfect so-bad-it’s-good feel that a film like this needs.

After the film it featured a huge Q and A with cast and crew. It was an excellent Q&A that was very informative and funny. I was able to get autographs on my horror fest poster from everyone there. They were all very happy to be getting to give out autographs too.
More to come...
