I thought this might be a good idea. How about we choose an obscure movie that most of the people here haven't seen each month, and everybody will try to obtain a copy and watch it. Then there will be a discussion thread for it? I don't know. I thought it might be cool.

I get to pick first, I pick La Haine, since most people here haven't seen it.

There will be four choices and then we will vote for which one, at least for this first month so that no one is arguing. Now how do we decide who picks??

I think first, the four mods, Me, Dan, Andrew, and Tim, should each have a pick. Then from there, we should let the members have a go.

That sounds good. Also, one rule. It has to be available on DVD. Probably obvious, but whatever.
I have to mull over my nomination.

Okay, I came up with three ideas. Now, I need to know if anyone has seen any of them. That will widdle down my nomination. When I pick one out of the three, then It will be voted for with the films picked by the other guys.
Living in Oblivion Primer (I haven't even seen it, but I own it.) MirrorMask
If more than one person has seen any of these, then they will be thrown out.

You guys have most likely worked this out, but we should stick to new releases so that the films aren't to too hard to track down.

I'm the same as captainofbeef. MirrorMask looks excellent.

Okay. My choice is gonna be MirrorMask, then. Once we get Dan, Andrew, and BeeD's choices, I'll start a poll.

Allrighty then! Mirrormask. But what about La Haine next, it's one of the best films of the 90s, c'mon! Amazing cast and heartbeating climax!

Well, it's not officially the movie, yet. La Haine will be in the running. Also, CriterionMaster and Andruini's reccomendations. This just for the first time. We'll be doing a poll. I need Criterion and Andruini's picks, though.

The poll is up. BeeD and Andrew: Don't vote for the movie you nominated. I voted for La Haine, although I am interested in Everything is Illuminated.

Feel free to use this thread as a 'nomination' thread. Just suggest movies, and they will go on the list.

I don't see a poll (and realize this thread is a few weeks old), but I vote La Haine. I've already seen Primer, Mirrormask, and Everything is Illuminated.
