Yes, I know it is going on 2007, but I think I want to go back and do each individual year and have people either rank their favorites or at least say what their favorite film was. And you can discuss what they thought of the year as a whole or films that came out that year.
I will have to think of my list before I post mine though.

[1] Sin City [2] Broken Flowers
Those are the only two I have on my list. I have briefly forgotten about every other movie made in 2005 for some reason.

I thought The Squid and the Whale was excellent, and much better than the poor The Constant Gardner. God, I hated the camera work in The Constant Gardner. It destroyed the whole film. And it wasn't that interesting story to begin with either. A truly overrated film. I cannot see the "greatness" in it. Leaved me totally empty, and even a bit irritated.

Was that film done by the same guy who did City of God, or am I thinking of some other film?

No, that's correct. He made City of God, which is a far better film in my view.

That is the only reason I would ever check the film out, just because I really liked City of God. But I will not be killing myself to try and see it.

I completely disregarded the Constant Gardner because the title was just so horrible. Constant gardener? What the fuck? So, the main character constantly gardens? Yeah. (I know it's not about that, but still, that's a horrible title. It causes what could be a decent movie to be completely ignored. Guess what? I saw the Constant Gardener! Yeah, thought you'd agree.) 1.) Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children (#050) 2.) Brick (#052) 3.) Sin City (#067) 4.) Are You the Favorite Person of Anybody? (#150) 5.) I'm not going to argue over this one, so I'll leave it a mystery. 6.) Tom Yum Goong (#451) I need to re-watch V for Vendetta, and actually, that's it as of right now. I only got interested in movies this year, so not surprisingly, I didn't see any of those in the year 2005.

Here is a list of films I can remember from 2005, probably forgot some.
1. Match Point 2. No Direction Home 3. The Three Burials of Melquiades Estrada 4. Broken Flowers 5. The Devil's Rejects 6. Sin City 7. Grizzly Man 8. Me and You and Everyone We Know 9. Revenge of the Sith 10. Munich 11. Land of the Dead 12. King Kong 13. Batman Begins 14. History of Violence 15. The Chronicles of Narnia 16. Cinderella Man 17. Corpse Bride 18. War of the Worlds 19. Wolf Creek 20. Millions 21. Mr. and Mrs. Smith 22. Madagascar 23. Saw II
Not a bad year, not bad at all. Features a couple of films in my top 250. Although the bottom four are some of the worst films ever made.

Here are some reminders. As a sidenote: Oldboy was made and released in 2003; taking two years to get to the mystical shores of USA Inc. does not count.

Red Eye has quality??
No sir, you have not seen enough movies from 2005! See The New World, Nine Lives, Syriana, L'Enfant, and Gus Van Sant's Last Days. At that point, you can claim you have seen too many films from 2005.
Ive seen 21 films from 2005. I'll most my list soon. I need to see some more 2006!

Well I was so close to not bolding it, but it was a good film from Craven especially compared to most. And there was no stupid fucking twist ending. I guess good compared to normal horror films coming out. EDIT: And Yea, I will see those films soon.
