I know most people here are super film snobs, but you all have to love a good car chase. What are some of your favorites?

The Italian Job (1969)
The French Connection
The Blues Brothers
The Road Warrior
The Terminator
Akira
Terminator 2: Judgement Day (THE best, in my opinion. When I think of car chases, here is what I think of.)
Die Hard: With a Vengence

Death Proof!
And as much as I hated these movies, these also had decent car chases:
Terminator 3
Jurassic Park
and one of the 'Bourne' movies had a decent car chase, if I remember correctly

I know most people here are super film snobs, but you all have to love a good car chase. I actually don't like car chases at all, I mean I don't mind them, but they are really nothing special for me. Does anyone else feel this way, I hope I am not alone on not really caring about a 'good car chase'? Most people like love car chases and shit too. |

I don't care about car chases. I don't have anything against them, but I would never say something like "I wish there would have been a car chase in that" or anything like that. But the car chase in Dazed and Confused and Terminator 2 are fantastic!

The car chase in Dazed in Confused is great, but for different reasons than people actually like car chases. It is a hilarious and fun scene, and not like "oh sweet, a huge explosive action-filled car chase." The reason that scene is so good, is because it is so funny, and not because it is actually a good car chase. Wouldn't you agree?

Akira didn't really have a car chase. Motorbike chase.  Besides that, all I'm really going to say is Grindhouse: Death Proof, with a semi-spoilerish link to show you how it's like. Fuckin' yes. If I had driven to the theater today, I would have been driving at 200 miles per hour for the rest of the day.

With the first group of girls, when they were driving super fast, I loved how Tarantino showed each person get killed [although not a chase  ]. It was just insane, the perfect car chase, done from the master, Tarantino. He has probably seen the all too, so you know he knows what he is doing. |
