Emanuelle in America

Hardcore sex, beastiality, torture...

Emanuelle in America is one of those movies that requires at least one viewing just to say you made it through the sucker. I'd put it in the same category as Salo, Cannibal Holocaust, Ilsa movies, I Spit On Your Grave, ect. Yes, it is that messed up. Lovers of extreme cinema need to have this movie under their belt.

Most of the movie isn't that offensive, but there are a couple of scenes that take this out of the softcore sex movie category and place it firmly in the Holy Shit! category. I will let the adventurous among you discover the scenes that I speak of on your own.

Grossness ****, maybe even ***** depending on what you're used to. If you saw Jackass Number Two, The Beast and Hostel, maybe you won't be that bothered.

I hope this has a DVD? I must fucking see this if it is up there with Salo. How did you see it? Is there any way to explain any of the scenes more without giving much away?

I actually own it, though I'm a little disturbed that I do. Now I'm not saying that it is consistently as nasty as Salo, but it does have constant nudity, hardcore intercourse, a scene with a horse that pushes bad taste to new levels (although Jackass Number Two has something similar), and a segment at the end that shows some pretty graphic torture. It is a WTF? film along the lines of Salo, I Spit On Your Grave, ect., and should be seen if sick films are your thing. I have a problem with bestiality, I must admit, and the scene in this film is just gross.

From what I understand, there are different kinds of Emanuelle films. Some are spelled with two mm's, which I believe are the legitimate originals, and then there's the ones like Emanuelle in America, which are attempts to cash in on the success of the first Emmanuelle films. I've seen a few of them, like Emmanuelle in Tokyo (which has some pretty good action, heh heh) and the very first Emmanuelle film. Most of them are just softcore sex movies, but Emanuelle in America is something quite different. There are tons of Emmanuelle and Emanuelle films out there, and I believe the actress in Emanuelle in America, Laura Gemser, shows up in a number of them.

Oh, if I like this one, I may have to check some of the others out then. This just came in the mail, so I paused Day for Night ( ) and popped this bad boy in. I will be back later with my "thoughts". haha. I cannot wait.

Fuck dude, I didn't expect this to turn into a snuff film in parts. Jerking off the horse was not cool either. But man did this film go wild, some parts were not good though, I didn't really enjoy a lot of the beginning and leading up, it all seemed so slow paced, not that I dislike slow-paced films, but some of these were really bad. But then when it got going into hardcore, then all that snuff stuff, I was glued to the screen.

I will never forget that ending, what the fuck is up with that? I couldn't believe it ended there. There were some really artistic moments too which I liked. When the girls were in the pool I really loved that, especially with that song they played. Do you know what that was? I actually genuinely loved that song. Thanks for the recommendation dude, I will have to take some more of your recommendations, both have turned out great (this and Cannibal Holocaust). I didn't think this was anywhere close to being perfect, but the film, and its ending, can't leave my mind.

Some of the dialogue and the 70's style was entertaining enough to keep me interested. I remember seeing a lot of Eurosleaze movies on late night cable when I was younger, and Emanuelle in America made me feel nostalgic. Of course, I never saw anything like the scene with Pedro the horse. I can't think of any artistic justification for that.

What did you think of Laura Gemser? She's a little too skinny for my tastes, but she's still hot. I was kind of pissed by the ending. In a normal film, there would have been some sort of attempt to bring down the snuff film industry. Maybe Emanuelle would gotten frustrated and taken the bastards on by herself when no one would publish her story, or something, but she just walks away with a shrug. That stuff with the natives is anticlimactic, to say the least.

That song you were talking about must be "Celebrate Myself" by Nico Fidenco. It is catchy, I agree.

Yeah, those lines are classics.

Yeah, I am not a fan of girls when you can see their bones on their chest or whatever, but she wasn't ugly, she was pretty hot. Just wish she weighed a little bit more. I didn't notice at first that she wasn't in any of the hardcore scenes, but when I watched her interview I found out. It must have just seemed like she was since she did so much of the soft-core stuff.
