A woman from a "cursed" family is released from a mental facility, and soon dismembered corpses start turning up. This movie is basically about a woman who kills three people and is sent to an insane asylum. She gets out years, later much to her relatives protest. Then her relatives try to scare her so that she would go back to the insane asylum. Everybody knows its not a good idea to scare a crazy person. So she kills them all. You might want to see this film for many crazy, stupid reasons: +There is full frontal nudity by the 1:33 mark +There is alot of blood +This movie is narrated +This movie plays the most random music in the most innapropriate scenes. For instance, the woman is being chased by a muddy guy while cheerful elevator music is playing. I'm not saying this is a bad movie, its just wierd. The reason for this is that this movie was lost for quite some time. Simply put, this is as crazy a movie as you can get. The director Doris Wishman is also responsible for such classics as "Nude on the Moon" and "Double Agent 73". Honestly, this movie is bizzare it uses the same footage over and over again, random pictures are shown, and oh sweet jesus the music. Grossness: *** out of **** (fake blood everywhere) Nudity: *** out of **** Cruelyy: *** out of **** ( knives stabbong constantly) Film Quality: ***.5 out of **** (widescreen excellent quality, with clear pictures)

I own quite a few Doris Wishman movies, but I haven't went looking for this one yet. She did a bunch of nudie movies (like Nude on the Moon, which is great) in the 60s, but eventually went on to porno in the 70s. I think this is her only horror picture, and I heard it was terrible. I am curious, though. Maybe I'll check it out.

Haha, I have the film this title is parodying, A Night to Remember, which is about the Titanic, . I have heard of the director though, I was always interested in her because she is a girl, and makes films like these. I mean, a nudie film, from a woman's perspective. That is so awesome. I got a question though, did she do some film that I think was called Let Me Die a Woman... maybe. I am pretty sure there is a film called that, but it might not be her, I don't know. I think the film has actually sex change footage or something. Any help... would help (?).

I just looked up "Let Me Die A Woman" and it is indeed diredted by Doris Wishman made in 1978. Here is the description according to IMDB:A documentary on the work of sex-change specialist Dr.Leo Wollman, including interviews with Dr.Wollman and a few of his patients, with an illustrated lecture on the various aspects of transsexuality plus actual footage of a sex-change operation, which is what gives the film its notoriety. I also have to say it s is pretty awesome to see a nidie film from a womans prospective. A Night to Dismember dosnt exploit nudity it just shows it. I guess she meant to show the human body rather than to exploit it.

It is at my Borders, and I have some Holiday spending money for there on my card, so maybe that will be a nice snag. But, I am not too sure yet. If you, or anyone, sees it before me, please post your thoughts, since I am on the edge about picking up that film, your thoughts could really help me lean one way or the other. Maybe I will throw it up on my queue too. On the DVD cover you posted, it says there is one of the best commentaries ever recorded on it, did you listen to that? I love listening to commentaries on films like these. Look at the SW film, Seeds of Sin. That has one of the best commentaries ever recorded [imo], just because it is so enjoyable, fun, and just really interesting to listen to stories about films like these. And since this is a self-proclaimed masterpiece of a commentary, I am really interested in it. If you own it, and haven't listened yet, you should, just to be able to know if it is as good as they say. Actually, this commentary may be the reason I check this film out.

If you're going to buy a Doris Wishman movie, Let Me Die A Woman might not be the best first choice. Probably Deadly Weapons/Double Agent 73 would be better. Those are her most famous movies. I haven't seen many good reviews for Let Me Die A Woman. For example: www.eccentric-cinema.com/cult_movies2006/LMDAW.htmI've read that the commentary is good because Doris Wishman constantly insults the guy discussing the movie with her.
