Ok, I hear that smoke on the water is like the easiest thing ever to learn on guitar and listening to it, why shouldn't it be!? Well I'm not finding it easy www.guitaretab.com/d/deep-purple/23239.htmlFor starters the chords G, A#, c and c# are in brackets. So how come the tab is showing fret positions which have nothing in common with the chords? Is reading tablature and playing it with chords different? I prob sound really stupid but I just dont get it Also I've tried playing the first three blocks (proper term?!) and they sound nothing like how they should sound, am I just changing to slowly or what???

Forget the chords, just play the tabs. The chords are supposed to be played over the riff. Try just playing the riff, see if it sounds right. There are tons of way to play the song. Most of them sound right, but everything takes time to learn.

My black one is Young Johnny after the Cash man, my other acoustic is The Bird, cause its a Seagull brand, and my electric is The Squire, cause its a Squire Stratocaster.

Some nice guitars indeed! I got a Tanglewood indiana which only cost me £70. By next year WHEN I am good I'll most likely upgrade.
