Here are the classic bands The Beatles Led Zeppelin Jimi Hendrix Experience Queen U2 Bruce Springsteen CCR Aerosmith AC/DC The Doors Elton John The Cure The Ramones GN'R Black Sabbath Bob Dylan Deep Purple The Yardbirds Gentle Giant Yes Depeche Mode Sex Pistols Bee Gees The Police The Rolling Stones The Beach Boys The Clash Metallica REM Rush Echo and the Bunnymen Elvis Costello Neil Young The Band Boston Buddy Holly Lynyrd Skynyrd Steppenwolf Ted Nugent Pink Floyd Simon and Garfunkel Jethro Tull Motorhead Frank Sinatra Bob Marley B-52's Def Leppard Motley Crue Kiss Jackson 5 Divinyls War Alice Cooper Bad Company Band of Gypsies Billy Joel Blue Oyster Cult Bo Diddley Bob Seger Cheap Trick Cream CSNY David Bowie Derek and the Dominoes Dire Straits Doobie Brothers Eagles Elvis Presley Eric Clapton Fleetwood Mac Free Foghat Grateful Dead Jackson Browne James Taylor Janis Joplin John Lennon Johnny Cash Judas Priest Ozzy Osbourne Peter Frampton Rainbow Santana Sly and the Family Stone Steve Miller Band Stevie Ray Vaughan Stevie Wonder Sting Styx Supertramp T-Rex Thin Lizzy Three Dog Night Tom Petty Traveling Wilburys Van Halen Van Morrison Whitesnake Wings ZZ Top INXS (old lineup) King Crimson Emerson, Lake and Palmer Uriah Heep Black Oak Arkansas Molly Hatchet Mott the Hoople The Outlaws Nazareth Ten Years After Redbone Meat Puppets Jefferson Airplane ? and the Mysterians Quiet Riot Slayer Anthrax The Who Devo Kraftwerk Velvet Underground Triumvirat Bad Brains Dinosaur Jr Gang Of Four Television The Kinks The Animals The Stooges Captain Beefheart and his Magic Band

I could have sworn I put The Who on the list, they are on my list on paper. I already used Sigur Ros. I will put some of the others in there.

Finally, here you have it the beginning of the Battle of the Bands! Modern Rock Battle-in KoRn Korn (sometimes typeset as Koßn to fit their logo) is a nu metal band from Bakersfield, California. They are often credited with creating the nu metal genre, and inspiring a wave of nu metal, alternative metal and rap metal bands in the late 1990s and early 2000s, assisting in particular Limp Bizkit (who were discovered by Korn themselves), Staind and Incubus. Since their 1994 self-titled debut, Korn have sold over 25 million records worldwide - including 16 million in the U.S. -, making them one of the best selling metal acts of the last twelve years. vs Wolfmother Wolfmother is an Australian band from Erskineville — a suburb of Sydney. The band consists of Andrew Stockdale (vocals/guitar), Chris Ross (bass/keyboards) and Myles Heskett (drums). Their music is inspired by rock acts such as MC5, Black Sabbath, Led Zeppelin, Deep Purple and Kyuss.

I don't like either of these bands, but Wolfmother is the lesser of two evils, so I vote for Wolfmother.

Modern Rock Round 1 Battle 2 Southeast region 1 seed Pearl Jam Pearl Jam is a rock band considered one of the most popular and influential artists of the 1990s. Their name is intimately tied to the rock scene of the early 1990s, and they are considered one of the Big Four of the grunge movement, alongside Nirvana, Alice In Chains and Soundgarden. Although they are grouped into the grunge genre, their sound mirrors classic rock of the 1970s, strongly showing their biggest influences, which include Neil Young, The Who, and Ramones. They are also one of the few mainstream alternative rock bands that has remained active well beyond their contemporaries, remaining extremely popular 15 years into their career, still selling out stadiums and amphitheaters across the world. vs Battle-in winner Wolfmother Wolfmother is an Australian band from Erskineville — a suburb of Sydney. The band consists of Andrew Stockdale (vocals/guitar), Chris Ross (bass/keyboards) and Myles Heskett (drums). Their music is inspired by rock acts such as MC5, Black Sabbath, Led Zeppelin, Deep Purple and Kyuss.

Pearl Jam. Korn is great! They were great live but also they sound like no one else. Give them credit for their first album, Wolfmother sounds like so many other bands.

Dan I'm sorry but I will always hate KoRn. They killed one of my favorite genres of music ever and turned it into a bunch of wanna be rappers with backing bands. I hate them, their records, their music, and the revolution they started. Nothing you ever show me will make me like them.

Modern Rock Round 1 Battle 3 Northwest region 1 seed Red Hot Chili Peppers The Red Hot Chili Peppers are a California-based rock band, formed in Los Angeles in 1983. Even though they have experienced numerous line-up changes and personal problems, the band has successfully created a sound that combines elements of funk, punk, rap, pop rock, psychedelic rock and heavy metal. Since 1984, they have produced nine studio albums which have sold over 60 million copies worldwide. They also hold the records for most #1 modern rock hits with nine, and most weeks spent atop that chart, with 72. vs 16 seed Bane Bane, a hardcore punk band, began as a side project between Aaron Dalbec (then of Converge) and Damon Bellardo. Dalbec approached Aaron Bedard (who had previously sang for the Worcester, Massachusetts hardcore band Backbone) about singing for Bane. They went into the studio in December of 1995 with a few friends and released a 5 song demo. The next year saw the release of their first EP, and many shows throughout central Massachusetts.
