I am surprised you even like them. I personally hate most 80's hair metal but they come close to the top of my most hated. Much better bands then them but I am not going to complain since we got to pick the bands, so blackmoses doesn't have the right to complain since he had the chance to pick them months ago.

O, I hate hair metal as well. Only a few I like, the Crue, the Snake, and the Roses. The rest suck

I actually don't even count Guns and Roses, Axl's voice is so much different than most hair metal. And their sound is also different, despite their hair being the same.

Eh, hair metal is quite fun if you don't take it too seriously.

They are not hair metal. They started before the hair metal phase.

I don't like Def Leppard at all, I would call their sound hair metal-ish though, even if they started before.

They were not originally hair metal. There early music is British blues metal in the tradition of Zeppelin and Priest. They progressed as the sound of music changed, but they didn't really ever become totally a hair metal band.

Ohh, if they did sound like Zeppelin before I would be interested in giving that a try at least. I am more informed on their "Pour Some Sugar on MAAAYYY"-style music. Anything you could recommend?

On Through The Night, there first record. Pure New Wave of British Heavy Metal. None of that pop metal stuff that would come later. Not exactly Zeppelin, more Priest influenced.

Classic Rock Battle-in Blondielondie is an American rock band that first gained fame in the late 1970s. The band was a pioneer in the early American punk rock and New Wave scenes. Its first two albums contained strong elements of these genres, and although successful in Australia and the United Kingdom, Blondie was regarded as an underground band in the United States until the release of a third album in 1978. Over the next three years, the band achieved several hit singles and was noted for its eclectic mix of musical styles incorporating elements of disco, pop and reggae, while retaining a basic style as a New Wave band. vs WarWar was a multiracial, multicultural American funk band of the 1970s from Southern California, known for the hit song "Low Rider". Formed in 1969, War was the first and most successful musical crossover, fusing elements of rock, funk, jazz, Latin music, R&B, and even reggae. The band also transcended racial and cultural barriers with a multi-ethnic line-up. The band's diverse musical influences have made it an enduring influence, one that has sold nearly 25 million records to date. Although War's lyrics are often socio-political in nature, their music usually had a laid-back, California funk vibe. The music has been sampled and covered by many contemporary artists, ranging from Janet Jackson to Korn to TLC.

Ok, War wins 3-2. Even though they only have one good song. Next one up within the next two days, I'm still in too much pain to sit down and do a bracket.

When I set up the brackets, which won't be for awhile. I kinda want to put this off until the end of the film battle anyway.

I just wanted to get the battle-in done, so Joel wouldn't be bothering me over Christmas break to do the battles. I don't have much time to do anything now that basketball season is starting, its just gonna have to wait. We already have a film battle going anyway.
