Guns N' Roses To Kick Off World Tour In Mexico

Guns N' Roses have announced that their 2007 World Tour will begin on June 2 in Monterrey Mexico. The tour had been delayed due to an injury to bassist Tommy Stinson's left wrist. Fortunately, the sprain is healing nicely and soon the band will be ready to rock like only they can.

June will see GN'R perform three concerts in Mexico before heading to Australia and New Zealand. It's been fifteen years since GN'R last performed in Mexico, Australia, or New Zealand and the anticipation is beyond belief. July has GN'R traveling to Japan for a series of rescheduled concerts. Fans attending can expect to hear GN'R classics like "Welcome To the Jungle", "November Rain", "Patience" and "Sweet Child O' Mine" along with blistering new songs from the band's forthcoming "Chinese Democracy" album like "Madagascar", "IRS" and "Better".

2006 saw Guns N' Roses perform over 70 concerts all over the world to rave reviews. With the release of the highly anticipated and long-awaited "Chinese Democracy" album imminent, 2007 promises to be the time that Guns N' Roses reclaim their throne as the world's most dangerous band. Lead vocalist W. Axl Rose, guitarists Robin Finck, Ron "Bumblefoot" Thal and Richard Fortus, bassist Tommy Stinson, keyboard players Dizzy Reed and Chris Pitman, and drummer Frank Ferrer are a rock n' roll spectacular that have to be experienced to be believed.

In other news, Robin Finck has posted an open letter on his official web site regarding the band's cancelled shows and its postponed tour:

"I'm writing now in the wake of the recently postponed and cancelled GNR commitments in Japan and in South Africa," he wrote. "I guess I'm writing because I too am disappointed, have a conscience, a website, and I am not on the Bullet Train to Osaka this evening.

"I purely want to share with those whom were avid for seeing GNR at these concerts that I too was looking forward to seeing you all. The band was primed and pumped, production packed and shipped. Then, much to our distress, unforeseen circumstance walked in, dropped its surly case and announced with certainty, 'I'm here!' What can we do.

"I have received innumerable emails from real people who where hooking up with friends or family, flying to faraway cities, booking hotels or friends' couches, docking the USS Kitty Hawk, and otherwise scheduling their time and enthusiasm around these events. In short, these peeps wuz straight stung adrenalized and lettin' me square have it! I too was psyched about the shows, planning to meet friends and family, watch the cherry blossom blossom etc. It is my wish that your bounce forward from here be one of a willful arc and opportunity. Believe me, I'm swallowing that very pill by your side."

So I guess we are getting a tour now. I just want the record....

I would've! It was one huge rock-fest thing, and Evanescence was there too (although you know I hate them, I'm just describing on what huge scale this thing was) and some twenty SA artists and SO MANY frigging bands! The reason I didn't go was that I only just came home, and it'd already started. So I'd have missed it, even if I did have tickets.

I would never go to see that concert, even if Metallica or G'NR was there. Too many shitty bands...

There were, I know. I wanted to frigging die when Simple Plan performed last year, but instead I just went to the other stage and danced my head off, as it was like an Electronica/Dance stage and Fat Boy Slim and Audiobullys were there.

But the SA bands rocked, and it was more about the fun and the party than about the bands (for me, anyway) because someone bought my ticket for me.

Coca-Cola South Africa, in conjunction with its media partner, 5FM and My Coke Fest organiser Big Concerts, have announced that Guns ‘n Roses will no longer form part of the line-up of the music festival taking place in Johannesburg and Cape Town on April 27 and May

Guns 'n Roses have announced that they have postponed the start of their world tour due to an injury to bassist Tommy Stinson.

Stinson recently sprained his left wrist in a fall and the injury has not yet healed. As a result, Guns 'n Roses will not make their two scheduled performances at My Coke Fest in South Africa at the end of the month. All other scheduled GN'R concerts (Australia, New Zealand and Japan) have also been postponed indefinitely.

"I feel so bad right now," explains bassist Tommy Stinson. "I accidentally fell down a flight of stairs. I put my hand down to break my fall and heard a loud 'pop.' The next morning I went to see my doctor, and the bad is news is it's severely sprained and I may have done some ligament damage. I feel horrible”. "We'd like to apologize to our fans that were looking forward to seeing us and know that we will we see you all soon. Again, we'd like to sincerely thank our fans worldwide for their patience and support."

Another Chinese Democracy song leaks

A studio mix of another new Guns N' Roses song, "There Was A Time", was leaked on Sunday, May 6, making it the fourth new GN'R track in two days to be released via the Internet ("The Blues", "Chinese Democracy" and "I.R.S." were leaked two days earlier).

"There Was A Time" (also known as "T.W.A.T.") was played live only twice — at the first New York City warm-up show on May 12, 2006 and Madrid, Spain on May 25, 2006 — and was mentioned as one of GN'R singer Axl Rose's favorites in an interview he gave to Rolling Stone magazine in January 2006. All tracks are rumored to be set for inclusion on Guns N' Roses' upcoming album "Chinese Democracy".

"Chinese Democracy" is the first Guns N' Roses album since the 1993 covers collection "The Spaghetti Incident". In the ensuing decade, the group has lost every original member besides singer Axl Rose and burned through a reported $13 million in recording expenses.

Longtime Guns N' Roses associate Del James revealed in a February 2007 online posting that "Chinese Democracy" was in the "mixing" stage.

The firm claims that Guns frontman W. Axl Rose and other associates owe Starlift more than $107,000 for services rendered.

The Guns N' Roses camp has not responded publicly to the lawsuit.

I just found out 'String Cheese Incident' got their name from a GnR album. Baller shit. Also, String Cheese will no longer play together after this summer, so check that shit out while you can.

What/who are they? I don't know anything about them, but have heard some people mention them around here. What kind of music are they? Would I maybe like them?

Also, I use Bearshare, ie. But I do know people who use Limewire. People still need to make mixed CD's! And a lot of time I don't want a whole album.

They are a jam band. A mix of bluegrass and other styles of music. You wouldn't like them...

What I meant to say is: people still use music P2P programs? In the sense of: people still use floppies? Or, isn't that outdated?

Oh, shit. I forgot, I did hear them, I remember, they were in that song battle. Whatever song I voted for was fucking amazing! But the other stuff on their MySpace didn't do much for me.
