Queensryche Covers Pink Floyd and Others...
Progressive Metal band Queensrÿche released their first single for their latest album 'Take Cover' on iTunes today. The song's name? Why, none other than Pink Floyd's classic song "Welcome To The Machine".
The new album will be full of cover songs that range from Black Sabbath, The O'Jays, to Broadway musicals. The album will be available in stores on November 13th.
Take Cover contains Queensrÿche's distinctive arrangement of Pink Floyd's "Welcome To The Machine," an acoustic version of Buffalo Springfield's "For What It's Worth," and a highly charged live version of U2's "Bullet The Blue Sky." "We'll never top the originals; they're classics for a reason," Geoff Tate (lead singer) says.
"We were more focused on finding different approaches that took the songs in unexpected directions."

Yea, I really didn't even know he was sick. Apparently no one other than his family and close friends knew (which is as it should be in my opinion). But he was a tremendous artist, very under appreciated. RIP...

I forget all the history on Pink Floyd, but didn't Wright constantly get the short end of the stick?

He was the only one who did hard drugs and got fired during the Final Cut sessions because of it. But other than the fact that he is under appreciated, I don't think he ever got the short end of the stick....

But other than the fact that he is under appreciated, I don't think he ever got the short end of the stick.... A couple years ago, I would have been all over looking up this kind of information. Now I'm not even bothered enough to try to do any research. I must be getting old.  |
