I'm obviously not going to be buying that. Most unplugged albums suck.

Korn Finishing Up New Effort From ultimate-guitar.com
Korn is set to finish up work on their new album, which is set for release later this year. The band is minus David Silveria, with tracks done by Missing Persons and Zappa skin-basher Terry Bozzio. It's the band's follow-up to their first album for Virgin Records, See You On The Other Side.
Vocalist Jonathan Davis and guitarist James "Munky" Shaffer told us at the Family Values cemetery party recently that the album is like nothing they've ever done before.
"The last song I'm doing vocals. We only have two more days, and then the album will be done. It cannot compare to anything we've done in the past. It's its own..." (To Munky) Do you think?" [Shaffer] "It's a totally mature Korn. The songs have evolved I think with our age." [Davis] "We've got Zack on keyboards, so we've got a lot of keyboards now. I'm not even going to try and explain it. You've just got to hear it."
Aside from a different sound, they're writing a different way -- with pop hit songwriters The Matrix. Davis said it will still sound like Korn.
"We started off doing that and it's turned into its own thing. It's been a really cool experience, having someone outside coming in to write with us and then taking that and mixing it up, twisting it around, and doing it our own way. I don't know. The way we did it this time was really interesting and fun."
Korn will start to do the European Festival Circuit starting with Pinkpop on May 28 in Landgraaf. The band will kick off the Family Values Tour in St. Louis, Missouri on July 20.
Blegh...

Oh, awesome. Thanks for that news, man. On my Family Values Tour DVD they said they wanted to do one again next year, but I didn't think they would actually be doing one, NEXT YEAR. I will definitely be getting tickets to it, since it was an absolutely amazing experience last time I went. I will have to see what this whole "new sound" is like, I will always be wishing they would go back to that underground, weird sounds, of their first/second record, but I still dig most of their other stuff a lot, so it is all good.

KoRn Release Album Details From billboard.com Korn has settled on "Untitled" as the name of its next album, due July 31 via Virgin. The 12-track set will be Korn's first without longtime drummer David Silveria, who is on hiatus from the band, and its second without founding guitarist Brian "Head" Welch, who left in 2005 for religious reasons. "Untitled" sees Korn crafting perhaps its most musically serious work since 2002's "Untouchables."
"Untitled" opens with the seemingly straightforward rocker "Starting Over," but more than halfway through, the guitars drop and give way to a dreamy, psychedelic bridge, only to have the verses resurrected by gospel-inspired keys. Indeed, unofficial band member and keyboardist Zac Baird spent more time recording with Korn than ever, and it shows, as he gives the almost ballad-like "Kiss" some "Strawberry Fields"-inspired tones.
Elsewhere, cuts such as "Do What They Say" and "Trained Response" sport almost dance-y, industrial grooves, while the guitars on the adventurous "Ever Be" take on almost orchestral proportions.
According to frontman Jonathan Davis, "Ever Be" and "Love & Luxury" both address Welch's departure. The former Korn member will preempt the release of "Untitled" with a tell-all book, "Save Me From Myself: How I Found God, Quit Korn, Kicked Drugs and Lived to Tell My Story," on July 7.
"I had to vent," Davis tells Billboard.com. "It really irritated me that he's putting out this book and profiting off of talking sh*t about us - the guys who gave him everything in his life and put him where he's at. If you don't want to be in the band, fine, but don't go out bad mouthing us."
"Untitled" is the follow-up to 2005's "See You On the Other Side," which has sold 1.2 million copies in the United States.
"Untitled" is also the final album Korn owes to Virgin, who it signed with in 2005 for $23 million upfront, according to Davis. In what amounted to a revenue-sharing deal, EMI acquired a 30% stake in Korn's overall business through 2010. "We're going to go out and tour this thing and we're hoping Virgin is going to want to do another deal with us," Davis says. "We have a good working relationship."
