I'm aware he has his detractors, but I'm a big fan of his early stuff, at least. 1999, Purple Rain, and Sing 'O' The Times are some of my favorite albums. What do you fools think of him?

I like his early stuff. But he got too overly sexual eventually and he completely lost me when he became that symbol. Nowadays though, he has returned to his old form and I have regained my respect for him.

I've gone through life without having listened to much if any Prince, and so I've gone through life without an opinion on his work. I remember, vaguely, being impressed with a live guitar solo I heard him play on this wacky guitar.
edit: I'll try to listen to some, though.

I've only ever heard "Black Sweat" (hahahaha that's so crude). It was a positive experience though, because my best friend and I couldn't stop laughing. It's catchy, you know...

He rocked the Super Bowl half time show, some of his guitar stuff reminds me so much of Hendrix it isn't even funny.

Just as I said with Dan when he made the Michael Jackson comparison a few months ago, where do you get this? They both make pop music. The similarities end there. Prince is an extremely talented musician. He plays all the instruments on his post Revolution albums. His guitar work is sililar to Hendrix, but he has his own style.

When I stated that Prince's guitar stuff sounds like Hendrix's, that was meant as a compliment.
