I am a big fan of The Killers. What do you all think of them?
And just to get this out of the way: I'm new. And just letting you know - I am not a big analyzer of music, movies, etc. - I just enjoy it or dislike it.

I hate the Killers. There first record was decent. But they totally sold out on their last record. They went and tried to be something they are not, big stadium arena rockers. At least if they stuck to their guns, I would just dislike their music. Now I dislike their music and what they stand for because they sold out for money.

I don't know. I think they're pretty decent, and they write some catchy tunes, but both of their albums a very uneven.

To me, the Killers are the most annoying band to have ever recorded music. Like C-Dan was saying about movies, with the bad ones, you can just kind of ignore them, but with the ones that are meh-ish average, especially when people fucking love them for no reason, it can just be too much to tolerate.

That actually really pleases me that you agree. If I'm not antagonized, so I guess that means if I write about subjects that I agree with and like, then you know, I'm not that bad of a guy at all. After all, I have to live with myself, so hey, I may be biased, but I'm not too bad of a person.

I'm beginning to think that people hate bands that sell-out because those bands are no longer living on the lower-class poverty line.

Their songs just really get on my nerves, lots of radio play Only a few bands I hate more. Being the kooks and snow patrol.

Beef, you say they sold out for money, but I don't think their cd is selling as much as their first one. That doesn't seem like a sell out to me. You gave your reasons, but would you mind elaborating a little more for me - as I am someone who disagrees.
Personally, I think they still have the same sound as their first cd. They are very unique and I haven't heard anything quite like them before.

They tried to a go to a bigger, more arena ready sound. This usually leads to better record sales and bigger tours. So in essence, they changed their sound from glam-influenced to Springsteen influenced. In the end, the record was weak, they couldn't find a hit single, and it didn't sell as well as the first one. So the move backfired on them, there is not much more I can say than that.
