The White Stripes are a Grammy Award-winning American rock music duo from Detroit, Michigan consisting of songwriter Jack White on guitar, piano, lead vocals, and Meg White on drums, percussion and vocals. The group rose to prominence as part of the garage rock revival with their successful albums, White Blood Cells and Elephant. The White Stripes are known for their raw low fidelity sound and simplicity of composition and arrangement mostly inspired by punk rock, American blues, folk rock, and country music. July 14, 2007 marks the tenth anniversary of the band. An anniversary show to be held in Glace Bay, Nova Scotia, sold out in twelve minutes. I like them quite a lot. White Blood Cells, Elephant, and Get Behind Me Satan are all absolutely phenomenal, and their self-titled and De Stijl are still great. I hope Icky Thump is good. The single is promising.

I got Icky Thump Vinyl on reserve at my fav. shop, so next tuesday couldn't get here fast enough. I just recently discovered Jack wrote 'We are going to be friends', a song I first heard off the Jack Johnson Curious George soundtrack and feel in love with. After seeing the beginning of Napoleon Dynamite on Comedy Central the other night, it hit me harder than any realization has ever struck me: Thats a baller ass White Stripes song. I promptly went out and got the 'White Blood Cells' disc and listened to it enough to need to own Elephant. GBMS is my least favorite, but still a good one.

I love them, every album is excellent. With Icky Thump being my new favorite, I love the synths on it..

you heard the album, beed? is "icky thump" the best song? if not, or even if it is, what other songs off the album should i check out? i might not get a chance to buy the album right away. "elephant" is a masterpiece, by the way. i can't believe my dad sold his white stripes stuff.

I haven't heard a lot of them, but I do like The Raconteurs, which Jack is a part of.

I haven't heard a lot of them, but I do like The Raconteurs, which Jack is a part of. I dig the Raconteurs, definitely lightyears away from the Stripes sound. But good nontheless. Jack is a musical genius, I was even diggin' some cuntry shit he produced that my bro had, which was really good.

Yeah, the album is perfect. I've listened to it about fifteen times, and I just got it, too.
