Best punk band ever! Funny, good lyrics, great guitar work and a universal hate of George Bush. Seriously an amazing band inmy opinion, consistently good albums
Thoughts?

They're alright. I think they're kind of generic, I like some of their songs. Also, when I saw them live, they were real dicks. Still, not bad. Far from best punk band ever, I think, though.

^I pretty much have the same opinion of them, though I did not see them live. Their music is decent and they hold claim to the first punk rock opera (for better or for worse), Punk in Drublic. And I do sympathize with their political convictions (though I might not be as radical). But they are far from best punk band ever in my opinion. That title goes to the Sex Pistols, The Clash, or the Ramones.

Also hear: the Dead Kennedys, the Damned, Black Flag, Bad Brains, Stooges, Minutemen, Buzzcocks and the Wipers. Though I should also hear: NOFX.

I think sex pistols and ramones are gigantically overrated but thats just me. I've listened to other bands you listed and I don't like any of them as much as NoFX. I agree some stuff is a bit samey but a lot is really varied. Also I love the imperfection, short songs etc. You really feel that they are just a band having fun and I like that.

First off, is being overrated really that important to you? Do you worry about music that too many people like? If so, your opinions are LAME! Short imperfect songs aren't new. In fact, I bet NOFX does most of them on purpose, whereas the Founders (as listed in my last post) probably did it authentically.

Okay so i haven't heard of the founders And I shall alter my opinion from overrated to simply I don't like it. Sex pistols, average band, average singer, average songs. My view.

I've never been a huge Pistols fan either.

I actually haven't heard of the Founders either, "as listed in my last post." How could the Sex Pistols be average? You could say that about a band like Rise Against, no problem, because they didn't really do much. They just play the same kind of music everyone else does, but with a louder vocalist. The Sex Pistols, though, were one of the first. So, overrated is fine, lame is cool, but average is silly. Do your punk homework.

There were so many better punk bands at the time than the Pistols. The Clash, Buzzcocks, The Damned, and an assload more. The Pistols are only remembered because they were "shocking." Their music is pretty good, but nothing amazing.

Their music is pretty good, but nothing amazing. The Sex Pistols were one of the earliest punk bands, so that's what I meant by the confusion on being "average." I had to double check the numbers, but they definitely came out before the Clash and the Damned. Though really, I like the Dead Kennedys (including the Dead Kennedys) more than any band mentioned so far, but that's just me.
