One of the legends of cinema. Luis Buñuel said that it was his early films that made him want to become a filmmaker. I adore 'Metropolis' and 'M'. Those are the only ones I've seen so far. Fritz Lang is excellent in Godard's 'Le Mépris' as himself.

Metropolis and M are my only two Langs so far as well. Both excellent films with Metropolis being slightly better.

I hope that was because of you being tired, and not the film itself. I have only seen M by Lang, and I adore it. It has so much to love in it; from the beautiful camera work to the brilliant acting by the lead. An amazing cinematic achievement.
I have watched around one hour of Spione, and it was a beatufully shot, well-paced film. I`ll se the whole thing eventually. For now, I am a big fan of Lang. Need to watch more of him.

Actually, it's because I usually watch films in my bed, so even if the film is fantastic, and I am not tired, I still fall asleep just because it is so comfy. But yeah, I didn't see enough of the film to be bored by it or anything.

The pace of M mirrors In the Hall of the Mountain King, which could be seen as a rather boring song until it reaches the climax at the end. It's all about the build-up.
Unfortunately, the build-up of a two minute song is much quicker and more stirring than the build-up of a two hour movie.

hey criterionmaster, I watch films in my bed aswell. I got the TV (and 5.1 surroundsound stereo) infront of my bed. It's the essence of relaxing.

Yes, it's the best way to watch films. All snuggled up with blankets and a good film is the essence of relaxing.

Hehe. Yes, the bed is a nice place to be when you watch a movie. I also have this "sakkosekk" where I sit quite often, very close to the tv/screen. But the bed is very comfy, espesially if I'm watching Basic Instinct or something...

watching movies in my bed just doesn't work, i always fall asleep. always. that's why i've switched to the couch. Tried it with Solyaris and Au Hazard Belthazar. It doesn't work for me. [/s]y: [li]80% of the time, I watch movies on this compter with Power DVD. Sitting in a rather standard chair, but it works. [/li][li]10% of the time, I watch movies on my eight inch portable DVD player. You know all the ladies love it. [/li][li]5% of the time, I watch movies on my to-TV DVD player. [/li][li]Less than 5% of the time, I watch movies in a movie theater. [/li][/ul]
