I never considered getting an audiobook until I signed up on a free trial which I then cancelled at emusic.com and had a credit for one. Free! So i got a scanner dakrly and it's read by Paul Giamatti! Its really long and I'm only just into it but im loving it so far. Giamatti reads with raspy tones and really keeps you interested. Its an entirely different and cool way to digest the written word. And just now I've found another free trial thing where you can download 2 audiobooks so I'm just downloading hearts in atlantis which is narrated by Stephen King himself and William Hurt. Fan fucking tastic! Any fans?

I've listened to some audiobooks before and they are alright. But I much prefer reading the book myself.

I dig it when the author reads their own books, or if the speaker is just phenomenal. I still prefer to just read a book myself.

Ehh... I've never listened to an audio book before. If I have the time, I would much rather read it rather than listen.

Of course they cannever actually take place of you reading the words yourself its just kind of neat novelty to be able to take something in in this similar yet altogether different manner.
