As the title goes, what kind of music devices do you use? And what do you like or dislike about them? (This is partially a shameless plug for my Music Players list on Rate Your Music, but I want to add more to it. Specifically CD players and MP3 players.)

160 GB Ipod and various sets of headphones. I never keep a set for more than 2 or so months because I blow them out.
I like it because I can keep all music in one place. I dislike Ipod's in general because they breakdown too easily and I that I just had to drop 300 dollars for a brand new one because my previous one died.

I have an 8 GB Ipod Touch, because it came free with my laptop. It's alright. I used to have a crappy little low brand mp3 player, so it's obviously an improvement. I have Quiet Comfort 2 Bose headphones and some Bose earbuds as well that are simply awesome for watching movies with

I was thinking about getting an iPod, but $300? Mine was an obscure brand, but hey, only $30. How did it die on you? Also, it's only 2GB, but really that's all I'd need for day-to-day action. Besides, my MP3 player's manual says it takes longer to load up the more stuff it has, which KINDA makes sense, but is probably full of lies and fail. Either way, I could have got more, but 2GB works for me.

I still haven't bought an MP3 player, mostly because I haven't gotten around to it. When I do, I'll probably get a cheap one, since I don't think I'll ever feel like converting all of my music on to it.

The battery died first, then the hard drive failed. Tried to switch batteries, didn't work. Figured buying a new one would be easier then trying to get the old one repaired.

Tim: I was talking with a friend of mine about MP3 players and he and I agreed that for just day-to-day activities, you really wouldn't need even 8GBs, which is the main one I was looking at from Costco. Since you wouldn't be looking for one with a massive amount of storage, they're a lot cheaper. Mine was probably the cheapest one at Fry's, though, because some were smaller and more expensive or bigger and even more expensive. I got a good balance. Chris: Nice. The non-removable battery died? Weird. And at least for computers, it's more likely that something else will die, like the power supply or motherboard, before the hard drive, unless it dropped off a building.

Just remembered to ask this: No one uses CD players anymore? How do you guys listen to CDs? With your minds?

I just play them in my computer or in my car. I have an old Sony Walkman but I only used it when my old Ipod died.

30 gig ipod, I hope it breaks though so I can buy something new and funky - I hear bang and olufsen have released a pretty cool device... I think the ipod is really good though, except when it freezes. When I'm at home I plug it into this ipod speaker dock which was really cheap but has quite good sound quality. I mainly get music off of emusic now and if I buy a cd, I'll just convert it and put the cd in a box and never use it again

Or you could download music. I'm starting to see some of the limitations of my MP3 player. The biggest one is it's so slow to move files over to it. It's like a floppy.

The joy of buying something tangible like a cd doesn't fade
