Talk about anything related to Watchmen. Spoiler tag's at the beginning, so have at it.
- Like Tim, my favorite chapter is Chapter 4, where Doctor Manhattan is on Mars experiencing time simultaneously in the past, present and future. That chapter really got my attention.
- My favorite character is actually Ozymandias. The Doc comes in at second, but I find Ozymandias to be such a compelling villain. He's not your traditional bad guy. He truly wants to help the world and his intentions are noble, but his implementation is what turns him into a villain. Plus, I like how they keep Ozy out of mind for most of the book. Only the most cynical, critical thinkers would suspect him out of the gate, especially since most of his involvement with the story is reserved for the background.
- I've also been watching the Watchmen motion comic. I saw a Blueray rip of the first chapter and decided to buy it on DVD for $20.
-- I got used to the male narrator doing female vocals, it's not really a big deal unless you absolutely must find a problem, and that's the thing: the problem with the single narrator distracts me from any other possible problems I might have.
- No one really seems to notice Silk Spectre II, especially compared to Rorschach, but I like how her character is all about her mental progression from being someone who's life has been controlled by others to being someone who can take her life back. Maybe a lot of female empowerment stuff is like that, but I just like they way Moore and Gibbons went about it.
- Haven't seen the movie. Probably won't watch it in theaters, not too interested in seeing it since I liked a lot of the subtleties like Nite Owl II being fat and not killer, but I'm just criticizing something I don't fully understand because I haven't seen it.
