I read a short story by Ray Bradbury or Issac Asimov about a man paid to steal items with a device that slows time. He later learns that the people who paid him are from the future and the earth is about to blow up. He gives her the stuff in exchange for the device. He says in the end that he has all the time in the world. Really cool story.
