Do any of you own some old or rare books?
I do own some old ones (not sure how valuable they are).
I have the complete series of The Adventures of Tom Swift by Voctor Appleton II which are from the '60s I think.
Some of these are very old, I just don't know how good they are because I just got them from my grandma:
- The Silver Skates by Mary Mapes Dodge (can't find date published but it says it was given to someone in 1936)
- Sky Castle by Arthur Northup (1932)
- Don Jim by Charles H. Snow(1932)
- Blood Upon The Snow (Hilda Lawrence), They Never Say When (Peter Cheyney), Pattern For Murder (Ione Sandberg Shriber) all in the same book published 1944-45
- The Searchers William Dixon Bell (1935)
- Hermit of Gordon's Creek by Hugh Lloyd (no date)
- Airplane Boys Discover the Secrets of Cuzco by E.J. Craine (1930)
- Neptune's Son by Rupert S. Holland (1937)
- World's Great Adventure Stories (1929)
- Tom Sawyer Abroad by Mark Twain (1896 is the copyright but I think it is 1924)
- Helping Himself by Horatio Alger Jr. (gift given in 1936)
- The Quiz-and-Answer Book by Frederic J. Haskin (1938) - Also, I found a joker from a deck of cards in here and a Sugar Bear Ecology Club card
- An Aviator's Luck by Captain Frank Cobb (no date)
- Strike Him Out by Harold M. Sherman (1931)
- Cappy Ricks Retires by Peter B. Kyne (1922)
- Tish Plays the Game by Mary Roberts Rinehart (1926)
- Robinson Crusoe by Daniel Defoe (no date)
- The Bravest Boy In Camp by Robert Leighton (1929)
Ok, not extremely old, but still way before our time. Have any of you heard anything about these books or suggest any of them for me to read?
I don't know if these are worth anything. I went off of the copyright date or the date they were recieved.
Also, my grandma gave me 3 very old crumbling bibles that are from the 1800's I think. Maybe I will take some pictures of these books to show you all.
Does anyone else have some older books?
