Harry Potter 7 (spoilers if not read)

I think that the deathly hallows is the cleverest and most brilliant of Jk Rowlings septology (!) of books. The conclusion was superb and I'm glad things worked out the way they did. Here I'm going to list some of my favourite moments, some things that I thought were a little odd, having discussed them with others. Thats all really, just somewhere to discuss and scrutinise any parts of the book that you wish.

Favourite moments:

• Breaking into gringotts
  
• Snapes memories where we find out that Dumbledores death was planned all along and stuff.
  
• Taking the locket off of Umbridge
  
• Harry getting to talk to Dumbledore again, I liked this.
  
• The final battle, the creatures and everybody fighting for Harry. Very heroic and poignant moments throughout this part, could look incredible on film, if done well.
  

Queries, thoughts:

• Weird and slightly creepy that Harry named his children after his parents. Well and Albus Severus Potter some name that.
  
• Not more was written about Mrs Weasley killing Bellatrix. I thought the moment was far more significant and should have had more said about it.
  
• Who raises Teddy Lupin? I know some comment was made about him coming round for tea about 4 times a week and the then agreement that he may as well move in. Yet, from age 0-11 who was caring for him?
  
• It was never said whether Harry fulfilled his ambition to become an auror. I've discussed this and people say he didn't sit his NEWTS so couldn't have qualified. Yet you could say an exception may have been made, considering he got rid of the darkest, evilest wizard ever also he could have sat his NEWTS anytime after all the trouble was over. I then made the point though that possibly aurors were no longer needed after the fall of Voldemort? Considering they are like a team of wizards whose job it is to find and kill Voldemort? Sure, more would be around, smaller evils...
  
• Who had Malfoy married? Presumably Pansy Parkinson but it was never stated.
  
• No scene was written for Tonks and Lupin getting killed. I assume JK was going for the all focus on Harry and shock the reader with who has died, partly because of his presence at the end?
  

Final comments: I wish someone had sorted Rita Skeeter out. Infact, why didn't Hermione like she did last time?
I also wished that Harry had left Malfoy to die. Ah well

Also, its worth stating that Harry never once cast the killing curse Avada Kadavra. I would have if I were him, lots

It was my favorite book also. I actually reread the last couple chapters today because I loved the ending so much. One thing I was wondering was: who was the girl Teddy was kissing because Lily said if they married, they would be cousins. Maybe I missed something. Anyways, the parts you pointed out are good and if I think of any others, I'll list them.

^Bill and Fleur's kid Victoire was who Teddy was kissing, I believe. That would make her a cousin to the Potters and the Weasleys.

I assume that members of the Order probably raised Teddy. Most likely the Weasleys or Bill and Fleur...

Draco probably married someone we didn't meet in the books or JK would have mentioned it.

Thanks. I wasn't really sure and thought I missed something. At first I thought it was one of Hermione's kids because it resembled Viktor Krum's name. Then I thought that couldn't be right. Thanks for clearing that up anyway.

I really didn't enjoy the ending-thing with all the kids and stuff. It was so soppy and completely disappointed me after such an unconventional and exciting book.

And I was happy that Harry saved Malfoy.

Oh, and I'd like to know please... When Harry and Dumbledore are in that place after Harry sort of dies, what/who is that creature that was crying on the floor?

That creature is the part of Harry's soul that Voldemort put into him. It was destroyed when Voldemort attacked Harry.

And, I'll say it again, however cheesy the epilogue might have been, I still liked it a lot.
