LOL! One of the worst genres of music! The only good band imo is The Used but I think they are GREAT. Saw them live, just amazing.

God I hate emo. It is the worst. I hate the Used. I'm sorry, but I do. Emo lovers ruined them for me. I could probably like them if I wanted to listen to them. Emo just drives me crazy, especially the kids at our school who listen to it. They are the jocks and they are listening to Taking Back Sunday or some band like that. And they think they are all depressed and cool. I feel like I could just kill a man.

I actually like bands such as Taking Back Sunday (I swear I am not even close to being a jock). I don't think I'm depressed or anything, I just like the music. I also don't dress emo - not even close - I just like the music part of it.

Emo music is unimaginative and self-loathing. Sometimes I feel it is worse than modern hip-hop...

Hey, hip-hop isn't that bad... (Although that should probably be under my guilty pleasures)

I enjoy most types of emo music but the culture side of things does annoy me. The amount of emo/scene kids get on my fucking nerves. All the same old haircuts and those stupid camo shorts and belts with metal studs. I hate the generalising as well. I'm not exactly a heavy emo person but I love bands like my chem and the used. I think its fine to like as long as your not one of theseposer kids who wears the same as everyone else because they're trying to fit in with a group. I wear stuff you might call emo at times because I like wearing it and I like dressing in this way. Not because all my friends are emos or whatever. I just dislike wearing sport brands and think atticus and dickies clothes are cool Though even I am sick of it all after seeing so many clone looking people at the Give it a name fest. ps: skinnies are crap. i hate them and will never wear them. They just look fucking stupid

I don't think MCR is even real emo. But, I'm no expert.

Its hard to say really. To me, emo is more a signification of the lyrical content held within a bands selection of songs. Rather than the dress style. Which would be scene. People posing because a said band looks that way. But then if those are scene kids, what we refer to them in the UK, then what are proper emos? Its a silly and confusing debate really...

It is silly, but I meant their style of music. I don't know much, but my friend told me that they weren't real emo.
That was a pretty confusing post, man! Scenesters are cute, though. Stupid and cute.

I thought I posted this a few months ago, but Sunny Day Real Estate is really the only emo group that I think is worth any interest, and that's mainly because they weren't really an emo band per-se, they just kind of helped the whole thing along. Yeah, that doesn't sound that great, but just give a couple of songs a listen before you disregard them. Probably their most popular song is Seven, and I can't remember any of their other songs that I like in name, so I'll just leave it at that.
