He can't sing. He has the one of the best stage prescences ever, but he raps. Therefor, he is not on my list. Even though I still love him.

You said "frontmen" thus that doesn't indicate singing, so he counts.

no need for a top ten, there's only one frontman for me: matthew bellamy... responsible for the vocal/guitar/piano/keyboard/lyrical genius of the band MUSEi much prefer film to music, but this is my one exception, and bellamy is the main reason. his voice is totally hypnotic and even though they mix up their sets with riffs and changes to guitar now and again... his voice sounds EXACTLY the same as it does recorded when they play live; PERFECT!!!!! i've seen them live 12 times now and he's absolutely mesmerising to watch, he writhes around with his guitars and thrusts to us in the crowd with it, it's quite obviously the sexiest thing there is. he's also mental on the piano, like actually mental. his fingers go mad he's ridiculously talented and all self taught. and to top it off, he has the lovliest/funniest speaking voice. his singing vocals can go REALLY high for those of you that don't know of the band, but when he talks he's really deep and fast and just very very english. in my personal opinion he is the most talented/beautiful/eccentric man in the world and he really is the biggest artistic influence in my life.

You might still be interested in Knights of Cydonia, though. The music video's a spaghetti western with some martial arts goodness thrown in. If anything, watch it with the mute on and go listen to something else.

1. Nick Cave (Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds) 2. Antony Hegarty (Antony and the Johnsons) 3. Tom Waits (Guys, I don't even know if he counts, but I can't make a list without him on it) 4. Bob Dylan (Ditto) 5. Marilyn Manson (Marilyn Manson) 6. Roger McGuinn (The Byrds) 7. Brett Sparks (The Handsome Family) 8. Johnny Cash (Ditto) 9. Lou Reed (?) 10. Nic Olsen (Perez)
Yeah, those were off the top of my head, I want to make another list later. I 'm still wondering about Brad Roberts (Crash Test Dummies) because I won't decide if his voice irritates me or if I like it.

Really good list, kayla. Ray Davies is the master, his voice is so awesome, and has such a distinct sound, at least to me. But Lou Reed, he is just beyond amazing. You've heard his solo stuff? Some think his voice sucks, but I love it so much.
