What's your all-time top 10 favorite albums?
Give it a real think over and please post, I know it's hard! Everything within music is allowed here,, it's what's YOU I'm talking about. Also try to do a top 10 with only one band/artist per. album, but I'm not going to arrest you if you put two or three albums of the same band/artist. It's for diversity's sake... You choose!
Here are my favorite albums:
1. King Crimson - In The Court Of The Crimson King (1969) 2. Jethro Tull - Thick As A Brick (1972) 3. Zbigniew Preisner - La Double vie de Véronique [Soundtrack] (1991) 4. Yes - Fragile (1972) 5. Led Zeppelin - Physical Graffiti (1975) 6. Opeth - My Arms, Your Hearse (1998) 7. Tom Waits - Rain Dogs (1985) 8. Frank Zappa - Hot Rats (1969) 9. Enslaved - Below The Lights (2003) 10. John Lee Hooker - Live at Cafe Au Go Go [Live] (1966)

Unfortunately I've only heard that one album. I love it oh so much. I can't tell you how many times I've cranked it up as loud as I can without my eardrums exploding before singing (or shouting, rather) along.

Top 5 Favorite Albums at the Moment (in no order): KoRn – Self-titledReally I don’t think they get enough respect, this CD has such a unique and different sound than other nu-metal bands but yet KoRn gets blamed for creating the genre of music. I can listen to this CD all the time, it is really one of my favorites ever. Best Track(s): Ball Tongue, Faggot Black Sabbath – Master of RealityI think this is really an underrated Sabbath CD; it gets mentioned but not nearly as much as Paranoid. I put it on and just let it play all the way through, a great companion CD to Paranoid, both of which are in my CD player now. Ozzy is God. Best Track(s): Sweet Leaf, Children of the Grave Public Enemy - It Takes a Nation of Millions to Hold Us BackThis is easily top 5 best rap albums ever; it is a perfect example of how rap should be made. It has a message; it has meaning behind the music. Chuck D comes with such an energy and intensity; he is one of the best lyricists. Can’t forget to mention Flava Flav, he is so funny and gets me pumped just hearing him. Best Track(s): Bring the Noise Deftones – Around the Fur/Adrenaline Deftones are one of my new favorite bands. They are experimental and seriously go through so many genres of music. I just love them, one song can be a seriously badass pit song another can be an experimental mellow song. I can listen to these two CD’s all the time. Best Track(s): Around the Fur/7 Words Alanis Morissette – Jagged Little PillSeriously every song is a masterpiece, I don’t think she gets enough credit; I am sure when you saw this was one of my favorites you probably thought I was crazy. I just love her voice and while sometimes her songs don’t make any sense (The song “Ironic” comes to mind) I can forgive it because she makes me feel her pain while listening. Just a great CD. Best Track(s): All I Really Want

Master of Reality is the second best Sabbath album behind self titled, KoRn sucks, Deftones are ok, Jagged Little Pill is excellent, Public Enemy is the only rap I like, and that album is their best.

Smashing Pumpkins are overrated, Zoso is great, but the worst of the six classic zep albums, Live at Stubbs is ok, but should be nowhere near a list of favorite albums, By the Way is the Chilli Peppers worst, Ramones is great, but Rocket to Russia is better, La Woman is great as are Surrealistic Pillow and Magical Mystery Tour, Sp is overrated once again and twice on one list is a sin, The Doors is a great album, Slipknot sucks, SOAD is ok nowhere near list material, Back in Black is superb, The Cure are overrated, Crash is mindblowing, Houses of the Holy is even more mindblwoing, Play is good, Paranoid is a masterpiece, Youth is below average, Bane is above average.
Overall, I think you need to listen to more music and develop an ear for whats behind the melody. A great test to see if you are truly listening to the music is whether you can identify all of the instruments being played. Otherwise, you are not truly getting the feel of the music.

I will give you my thoughts on the albums you put BM:
1. Mellon Collie is probably my favorite Smashing Pumpkins album and one of the best two disc CD’s ever. Smashing Pumpkins are a great band and I don't understand the hate CoB has for them, maybe he can explain?
2. Zoso is probably my third favorite Led Zeppelin CD, but just like all their others it is perfect. I can put it on and just listen to the whole thing, I actually think "Rock and Roll" is overrated, way prefer "When the Levee Breaks".
3. Great choice with Live at Stubbs; I find the CD to be underrated by so many people, it's like they don't take the guy seriously. Just the mention of his name around here brings a laugh and people say "who that Jewish rapper?" It pisses me off because he has better lyrics than all other rappers and he isn't even rap!
4. By the Way is probably my least favorite RHCP CD I have listened to all the way through. I mean don't get me wrong, there are great tracks on the disc; I just prefer Californication and BSSM.
5. Perfect CD! The Ramones are so badass and the three songs you listed are some of my favorites as well.
6. L.A. Woman is one of the three good Doors CD's, but this is the worst of the three, it has good tracks but also has bad ones, overall not a masterpiece.
7. Love Jefferson Airplane but haven't listened to the whole CD. The songs I have heard from it are amazing though.
8. Magical Mystery Tour is a work of art. It has one of my all-time favorite songs on it, "I am the Walrus". Beatles are the best!
9. Siamese Dream is on par with Mellon Collie. It is just an amazing disc with one of the most perfect blends of all of SP<3's style.
10. Doors self-titled is probably their best and I know for a fact you admitted this to me, "there were two terrible songs on the CD though." That is word for word what you said, is it not? Well if that is true I am sure you could find a better CD than it, seeing as how there are better CD’s than it but still a nice choice.
11. Slipknot is the shit! I don't care what anyone else says, they have great guitar/drums and are one of the best nu-metal bands out there. And probably the number 1 band I want to see live. This CD is a perfect example of how much I live them; "Wait and Bleed" is fantastic.
12. Toxcity is SoaD's best CD and one of my favorites, his voice mixed with their awesome sound and crazy/hilarious lyrics make them great. I don't care if people hate them.
13. Back in Black is excellent, what got me to fall in love with AC/DC at a young age. A Masterpiece.
14. Starring at the Sea is such an awesome greatest hits CD and features the band at their best. I listen to this disc all the time; "Boys Don't Cry" is just too amazing.
15. Crash is an excellent CD from a great band. "Two Step" is my favorite song by them and I could play it over and over.
16. Houses of the Holy, excellent choice. Zeppelin is too good. This CD is a masterpiece.
17. Moby is amazing and Play is his best. I could listen to this CD over and over. Moby is just a genius.
18. Paranoid is in my top 5 best CD's. It is probably the most perfect CD I have ever heard and features probably 3 of the best rock songs ever made.
19. Youth is a great follow-up to Live at Stubbs. I thought it was good at first but the more I listen to it the better I like it.
20. Bane is such an awesome live band. This is an unusual choice for top 20 but I am guessing you are basing it on how kick ass their show was so I can definitely agree. "Can We Start Again" kicked my ass, your ass, and everyone in the whole places ass.
Overall a great list, since it is favorites I can't complain.

1. Mellon Collie is probably my favorite Smashing Pumpkins album and one of the best two disc CD’s ever. Smashing Pumpkins are a great band and I don't understand the hate CoB has for them, maybe he can explain? I do not like the band because I do not like Corgans voice. Its whiny and just annoys the hell out of me. Also, its because the Smashing Pumpkins are a STUDIO band. They could not recreat what the did in the the studio at all live and I lose respect for bands that can not do this. Couple this with the fact that that I cant stand Corgan's voice and you have instant hate. I also think MCATIS is the single most overrated album of all time. It is a bloated beast with very few good songs in my opinion.

I've always just considered my Top 5.
That's just how it's always been, so the whole "slot" thing is, you know, if I feel more in the mood for Let it Be or Abbey Road. I never really bothered with the rest of the top 10, but those would be runners up.
1) S&M by Metallica - I'm not even a really big Metallica fan, and yet this is still my favorite album period, end of line. 2) No Disc. by the Seatbelts - Such a diverse and awesome album. 3) Cowboy Bebop by the Seatbelts - (or, failsafe backup all purpose the Seatbelts slot) 4) Serart by Serart - No comment needed. 5) Grand Finale by Nobuo Uematsu - If you need proof that video game music can be good, this is all the evidence you will ever need. Although if you need to stick it to a kid who only listens to metal, Uematsu's side project the Black Mages will work in that regard.
6) (all purpose the Beatles album slot) 7) (all purpose the Mars Volta album slot) 8) (all purpose the Rolling Stones album slot)
You don't need to argue about my favorite albums. What? Are your futile knocks at S&M going to bring it down so I can replace it with your favorite album? Nah. Just accept it as fact that these are my top five, have remained so for years, and may not ever change.

Nice list Tim. Born to Run is probably my favorite album of all time. Every song is perfection, I don't care for the Smashing Pumpkins and Mellon Collie is a bloated beast of overrated songs, but if you like it I don't really care. Purple Rain is awesome and works even better with the movie, though it does sound kinda dated in my opinion. Bitches Brew is amazing as well, though not as good as Kind of Blue in my opinion. 2112 blows my mind every time as does Blonde on Blonde. Automatic is a great record, though I like Murmur better. Who's Next is the Who's best record and London Calling is the Clash's best record. Rubber Soul is perfection though not the best Beatles album in my opinion.
I really like that list, diverse and consisting of perfect records other than your number 9.

First 3 are masterpieces, though I prefer Houses of the Holy to II and Blonde and Blonde and Highway 61 to Blood on the Tracks. BSSM is a great record, possibly RHCP's best, but I think I might like Out in LA better. Crash is amazing, but BTCS, UTTAD, LWS, and RTT are all better records. Electric Ladyland is awesome as are Who's Next and Black in Black. Mellon Collie sucks, but Zeppelin I is rockin'. The Doors is a great record as well. Ten is PJ's best, Live at Stubbs is a above average live record, Horses is good stuff, and Appetite is one of the best debut records of all time.
Your taste is improving my man. But you still have some work to do...
