Excellent stuff man. The Kinks are so underrated it hurts. The Davies' brothers are geniuses. Pet Sounds is the only Beach Boys album I truly like. It is so much more mature then their other records. Of course, The Animals and David Bowie are excellent too (though Aladdin Sane isn't my personal favorite Bowie record). Surprising choice with Magical Mystery Tour, maybe my least favorite Beatles album. But it's still awesome, so to each his own. I have been meaning to check out the next three records on your list for they have all been recommended to me at some point. Bookends is groovy. And In the Court of the Crimson King is perhaps the best prog record and probably my favorite record on this list. I say again, awesome stuff.

The Kinks / Village Green Preservation SocietyThe Beach Boys / Pet SoundsThe Beatles / Magical Mystery Tour[ Simon & Garfunkel / BookendsKing Crimson / In the Court of the Crimson King I actually just bought that Kinks album and it is stunning. It is one of my favorite albums ever, so nice choice with that. I agree with beed, the Kinks need more respect. Pet Sounds is on my list, it is one of the most perfect albums ever. I got to see the Beach Boys (what is left of them) live some months ago, it was just amazing. Magical Mystery Tour isn't my favorite album by them, but it is so fucking good. The more I listen to it, the more experimentation I hear going on, just the more awesomeness I hear. It also has one of my favorite Beatles songs ever, "I Am the Walrus". Bookends is probably my favorite out of it and Bridge Over Troubled Water (the two I have heard), so nice choice. And that Crimson album I have only listened to a little bit of, but I have it, so I will finish it soon. Very good list, is there a reason you like Magical Mystery Tour the best? Which Beatles albums have you heard?
