I just posted about this over at the Dark Knight thread. I haven't really seen much of his work, but it's always sad to see someone with potential and life left in 'em go.

This news is very sad, as I also said in the Dark Knight thread. Ledger was just coming into his own as an actor in my opinion, with Brokeback Mountain garnering him an Oscar nomination. Its a shame to see someone so young die a drug-related death.

yeah, truly WTF-worthy. Shocking, really, to see people this young in the spotlight go.

^Yea, I was wondering about the same thing. Since when has a drug-related death been a good death?

either of you ever see that scene in Paths of Glory where they talk about whether they prefer dying by bayonette or mustard gas?

either of you ever see that scene in Paths of Glory where they talk about whether they prefer dying by bayonette or mustard gas? You mean the Kubrick picture? You forget who you're talking to. Feel free to explain what you mean in a spoiler.

there's a scene in Paths of Glory where 2 soldiers, the night before an attack in which they'll surely die, are arguing over what's more preferable: to die by bayonet or by mustard gas, and they both agree that bayonet's preferable. One argues that this is because we naturally fear pain more than we fear death. This whole argument over a drug death being a "good" death as opposed to murder or something just reminded me of that.

You were suppose to put that in a spoiler tag.

That's barely a spoiler. That scene doesn't give much away about the plot.
